I come seeking NSC running wisdom...
After popping a hamstring at Hove park on the first Saturday of 2018, I made my parkrun return this weekend with a very sedate 27.22. After 5 weeks of recovery/kicking my heels I'm trying to build my distances back up, went out yesterday and completed 10.8...
Excellent running all round! Really enjoyed it despite being rather more uphill than I expected.
Thanks for the organisation, great to meet everyone, no chance of remembering all the names but if you see me knocking around Hove Park on a Saturday morning come and say hello!
Think I need to see...
No major issues this time at Hove park, went round in 23.45 so I've lost a little time based on previous weeks, will be trying to get this back soon and I'll be fine to line up with Team C on the 21st...
I thought I was doing OK until last week, Parkrun at the end of May I was down to 23.07, last week, lined up took three steps and had immediate warning signals in my left ankle, calf and glute, never had anything like it!. I dropped pace immediately and jogged round in 25.30. Not done anything...
I've got a plantar problem at the moment, I've had it all year and have carried on running - it hurts!
Are there any magic cures/tips out there which don't involve the word 'rest'?
Mr Blobby mentioned the Weakest Link to me in the week and I'd be interested in joining you. I'm in the 250 club down at Hove park and running at about 23.30 pace at the moment...
4 hours 36 for me this year.
Not the best time but given my preparations I was very happy with it.
Missed the last 3 months of 2015 with a knee injury and then put my back out over Christmas, rather than a early January starting point of being able to run 5 or 6 miles comfortably I was close...
I'm here in Canada at the moment and it's very nearly beer o'clock. Half the house is Canada the other half is England, should be an entertaining evening! Come on you lionesses!!
Put me down for three marathons done Steve.
Done Brighton for the past three years, my 2013 time was 5h25, my 2015 effort was 3h52.
I dont know what else I have to give beyond this but I'm signed up for Brighton 2016.
Cheers!
I shall be slowly trotting around Hove park for the 200th time tomorrow and then attempting my first Brighton Half on Sunday. Hopefully it will stay dry and not too breezy!
Good luck to all taking part.
Yesterday was my second attempt at Brighton.
Found miles 19-23 so tough, had to stop and have a couple of 1/4 mile walks.
The crowds in the final 3 certainly helped me along and finished in 4.21 which is over an hours improvement on last years effort.
Amazing what a difference being slightly...

Feeling quite daunted now, this is my first attempt & I find myself in a similar boat to Barrel of Fun. Had been hoping for a sub four time but now will just be very happy to finish.
Good luck to you all!
I treated myself to the first 7 miler for three weeks yesterday.
Even the easy downhill start seemed a struggle.
There is much xmas excess to be reversed over the coming weeks!
Good luck to all those getting their running shoes on again soon
Running my first marathon in April.
Tonight was my last drink until I corss the finishing line.
Never tried avoiding the booze before, matchdays are going to be tough and not quite so much fun!
Best of luck to you:smile:
