Bit late with this HM post but thought I'd join the party
Pretty lousy day for a run, character building I think they call it. Not ideal prep for me either with going to Sheffield on Saturday, enjoying 6 pints, having no evening meal and getting to bed at 12.45.
Anyway, I set off...
I wussed out of a long run for the second consecutive week, I did a swapsy yesterday evening for a shorter midweek run so have a nice little 17 miler to look forward to in a few days time.
Quite glad I did though as running into the breeze from the pier to the lagoon was bad enough then!
It...
Happy new year to the best thread on NSC!
A quick reflection on my 2019 running year saw me check out with 1201 miles. I nursed a minor groin niggle for most of December so a combination of slow 'jog with dog' got me over my last remaining target of averaging 100 miles a month which smashed my...
On the occasion of my Parkrun 350 this weekend, Phil the Greyhound made his running debut at Hove Park.
What's now very clear is that he is definitely suited to short distances and absolutely not for anything longer as I dragged him round and recorded a new PW of 32.17 :lolol:
Included in...
Late update from my weekends running.
I was over in Northern Ireland for a long weekend, decided to take in Falls Park in Belfast. Two and a half laps on tarmac so I didn't feel as I was too far away from Hove Park!
The course was though a little hilly, with a lovely view of a mountain in the...
You don't need to tell me how easy it is to fall over, having done so twice now in about eight months - maybe running isn't good for me after all.
Good to see you on Saturday, I hope you're still able to do your mountain training over the next couple of weeks.
I'm struggling with Sciatic...
Hello chaps, my weekend running update from Canada.
Well, after 10 years I finally broke into Parkrun tourism, a small local run in Kanata around the brilliantly named Beaver Pond, only a little over 20 runners but the usual friendly Parkrun welcome and some interest in my 250 t-shirt. My 22.30...
More excellent running from you folks over the weekend, nothing spectacular from me, I must be slacking!!
I did however finally get round to updating my stats for the week and a quick comparison of Weakest Link splits for the last three years shows steady progress, still much more room for...
Just to echo everyone else on here, thanks to the Gaffer for organising the Weakest Link again this year.
Stirling effort on fixing (sorry, organising the teams) and one that deserves to be rewarded by holding the reigns again next year
As for the pic above Simgull it’s hard to tell...
Chipped another couple of seconds off my PB in Hove Park this morning down to 21.12 (64.39 AG).
Good to see Simgull not too far behind me.
Just the London to Brighton bike ride to survive unscathed tomorrow and I'll be good for Wednesdays Weakest Link-fest.
I'll see your 244 in 266 and raise you...
Congratulations on completing your 328th parkrun and your 328th at Brighton & Hove parkrun today
I quite like Hove Park too apparently... :)
Cheers Chaps!!
As it happens I might be about to branch out into Parkrun tourism, heading over to Canada in a few weeks, will try and take in one or two over there and do this tourism thing properly
Thanks for the suggestions, I like both your thinking, realistically have three more...
Bit of a late update to my running weekend. A best ever positional finish of 27th at Hove Park and a PB of a massive one second to boot, down to 21.14 (64.29 AG) - Gaffer, if you could oblige with the table :)
Its a measure of my progress this year in that going sub 22 used to be a really big...
I'm available for this again and would be proud to be the weakest link for any given team :)
I'm doing the London to Brighton bike ride for the first time on the 16th and as a very keen non-cyclist I'm assuming my legs and arse will have recovered by the 19th!
Hope it's bloody warmer than it...
What a fantastic day - I love the Brighton Marathon!
From my first in 2013 in 5.25.50 (my own entry into personal worst territory) to yesterdays seventh running, I love the crowds, I love the support and atmosphere, I love the pain ... (ok maybe not).
Yesterday was a successful one for me, I...
Well done to all the AW20 runners yesterday – some top efforts there.
I ducked this event but still had a decent weekends running.
Starting off with Parkrun, after last weeks SB I needed to find 12 seconds to convert this to a PB, in good conditions I managed to find 31 and smashed my PB by 20...
Mixed weekend for my running efforts.
Started well on Saturday in Hove Park, a SB time of 21.46 and AG of 62.71 (along with a best positional and gender finish) made for a satisfying start to the weekend. Just need to find 12 seconds over the coming couple of weeks to turn that SB into a PB...
