Good idea. I was planning a bit of Parkrun tourism this coming Saturday (up North: Guildford!) but maybe 26th May? (If you can't do 26th I can switch to the 19th, no prob.) Worthing's good for me of course.

Did the Portslade Hedgehoppers 5 yesterday. Out from the back of Portslade to Devils Dyke. Not as hilly or wet as I feared (I am a total wimp) but very narrow paths and difficult to overtake if you lined up too far back. Great little run though. Aimed at 40.00 and got 40.13 so OK. 5 miles feel a long way when all you do is Parkruns!

I've bumped into that run before. Looks a good community run. 8:00 pace good too. I was on a parallel track doing my 8.75 mile Hove Lagoon Dyke Tavern return. Decided to try and keep a little distance in the Sunday runs. Starting to feel I'm getting back to where I was 4 weeks before the Moyleman.

26th May Worthing Parkrun it is. Any other NSC Challengers want to make the trip? Will prepare by just holding back on the 10k training Tuesday scheduled peak 5x 1k intervals and making the Thursday run off the pace.

Updated table for Artie Fufkin, Simgull and @GNT. Hope it was the most recent table.
Notice Simgull edging to 70% AG. For those who dismiss AG I found this quote " As your score is a comparison with World Record times don't be dissapointed if it is a long way from 100%. As a general guide, if your percentage comes out as 90% or above then you can count yourself as World Class! Over 80% is typically National Class, over 70% is Regional Class and over 60% is local Class."

Always amazed to see what a good set of runners we have on this thread. I am happy to plod around towards the back, luckily the only goal I set is to beat my own PBs! I will be aiming for a Marathon PB in Edinburgh. I think it has taken until this week for me to recover from Brighton/London marathons. I finally feel full of energy again this week and now hopefully injury free as well. Planning on Hove Prom Park Run this Saturday but as only a week before Edinburgh not pushing for a "fast" time. I am hoping to plod round the Edinburgh Park Run the following Saturday but just noticed they had over 600 runners this weekend, that must make it very crowded at the start line! Anyone done it? Once I get back from the World Cup I am going to try and up my speed. I need to at least get to 60% in Park Run!!

You nearly scalped me at Brighton this year with your steady and upward running graph! You've made me feel guilty this year with your massive fundraising efforts and I dropped into the Martlets Office yesterday to sign up with Clem for BM 2019. Enjoy Edinburgh.

I took the New Balance 1400s out for a 19-mile spin this morning and found out exactly why Badger doesn't use them for long distance runs. My feet definitely started to ache and feel uncomfortable relatively early in the run. I love the shoes but I agree they are not for distance. However, with just 10 days until Edinburgh, I'm not sure I can buy something new and risk one of my first runs in them being a marathon.

You've probably worn them out, as well! I wouldn't do the marathon in them. Good luck.

Based on how I felt this morning, I wouldn't do the marathon in them either. But can I really buy a new pair of shoes at this late stage and debut them in a marathon? It seems foolish either way!

What have you been wearing before? It would be better to get a new pair of the model you've worn in training, rather than wear the 1400s.

In other news. I've just booked a hotel for Boston next April. Now I hope I make it in to the race!

Asics GT-1000s. That's all I've ever worn. They are solid but unspectacular. They don't feel as nice as the 1400s but they are definitely sturdier. Sounds like I need to invest in a new pair ASAP!

You definitely should! It's way to close to the marathon to be trying out different shoes. I've only ever tried out new shoes when I haven't been training for anything.

There was a slight scanner 'glitch' at Hove park this weekend, all now resolved and I have an official time. A seasons best of 22.25.

Been looking over my stats (in my 10th year of parkrunning - yikes!) and in the nearly 300 runs, I've only gone sub 22 six times, my times are coming down, hopefully I can attack my PB over the next few weeks, try and stick to the coattails of some of you speedy runners...

A flatter Parkrun should get you most of the way there.. Prom or Worthing?
