This is good, yes
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if Turkey / NATO shut the Bosporus to Russian naval traffic. I’m sure there’s some international law or something that prevents it but let’s get some balls and do it - Baltic Sea too.Yes, it's become unsurprising to see Turkey in these lists.
It's a big country, also very hard to police in some areas, so it's possible the 'antics' are not government sanctioned I suppose.
In a way it's little different from the huge spike seen in exports of vans and trucks (from the UK and EU) to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Georgia...seen starting the week after such exports were banned to Russia.
But yes, Turkey are tough allies - I'm still happy they're in NATO though.
Lend lease, huh? They've handed that out before - took us a life time (and a huge drain on the economy) paying that back - years and years! 60 in fact - finally escaped from the huge financial burden in 2006!
But maybe it's still an optional.avenue open for getting weaponry from the US. I think Ukraine needs all the options it can get.Lend lease, huh? Be a great deal, yeh. Ukraine in hock to the USA for most of the rest of the century. Good news in a way, but best of a bad job ultimately. Still, I expect Ukraine has some resources good ol' Uncle Sam will like.Ok as long as Ukraine get a fair deal on it

Better deal - and not much of a choice if they don't want to lose. Yes, not great, but admittedly rather better than the alternative I grant you!If Ukraine don't get their country back and still end up paying for insufficient help, then it's a bad deal. If Ukraine get their country back, and they pay by allowing the West to mine a small fraction of their resources, then that's a good deal.

Wouldn't they just raise the prices beforehand, in some obscure place like Ann Arbor, Michigan for a couple of days, to pretend they're giving a real discount, like Tesco? There's something I don't understand here - well there are many things, but here's the new thing:
Lend -Lease Act: so, in the case that the US provides shells/missiles that are past their use by date (and therefore destined for decommissioning by the US,at their own cost)... I would hope that Ukraine at least gets them at a discounted cost (loan, whatever).
Anyone know![]()
Move along. Nothing to see here.
Just incoming debris (which seems to have scored a direct hit).
Russians just can't admit that the 'little Russians' of Ukraine are successfully making an oily mess of Russia's economy.
Edit: 'Eternal flame' and 'High-precision debris' - good stuff
I hesitate to post this. Prepare to hold your heads in your hands.
