Also still trying to work out how Milner got injured considering how little he played last year. Must be nice earning 2m+ a year just to get yourself fit to eventually sit on the bench at best ..hmm

Offiah enjoying a more successful loan than, say, Sarmiento, ACD or Moran. Maybe at a lower level, but getting reviews far superior to them - Sarmiento and ACD frequently starting on the bench, and Moran hardly pulling up trees at Stoke.

I‘ve been following him for a few years - thought he might have made it into top flight at one point. Good luck to him.

Guardian reporting that we’d bin off Ferguson for £40m - sounds low and not sure where their figure comes from but at that price surely a sell on percentage would be included?

I’m really hoping for a fullback this weekend or Monday but I’m losing confidence that anything will happen. El Hadji Malick Diouf was the man but this rumour has gone cold.

With his recent appearances on the bench I'd changed my mind and thought he might be staying around the first team, getting a few minutes now and again (we might as well have brought him on for ten minutes today!) rather than going out on loan - but who knows? Championship level will be a big challenge for a 19 year old CB.

Cashin coming in may have tipped the balance. Hope he signs a new contract first - don't want another U21 slipping away for peanuts like Samuels and Peupion.

Very strange window so far with only today left. Barco not coming back, Enciso, Moder and possibly Ferguson/McConville out on loan. Cashin seems a good deal and £20m on a striker we won't see till next year coming in. Definitely has the feel of smaller/weaker squad given the impossibly long injury list when we still have a possible european place to go for if we can get it together.

On the flip side we did need to dump some players. Squad way too bloated and don't want sulky players hanging about who aren't playing.
