Fabinho wasn't it?In my total guesswork opinion Evan hasn't been fully fit since that Liverpool thug Matip Achilles raked him, then smiled at the ref and got away with the most clear cut red card you'll ever see.
So previous to that tackle he was playing really well and the world was his oyster so to speak.
I'd be gutted if he leaves the club because he will come good,of that I've no doubt, however I do think a loan will do him no harm even to Southampton where I'd guess he'd get plenty of minutes once fit.
Hard to put a price on him currently but I'm hoping the club stick with him and more importantly I hope he wants to stick with us.
A fully fit Ferguson is worth a lot more than the 20 million ISH we'd probably get for him right now.
I also was aware of the name of Alex Dawson but didn't know too much about him.
This seems to be a neat summary:

100% this. That cynical assault on Evan has deprived us of the privilege of seeing a promising career emerge. However, he is still young and a loan could reinvigorate him, but we shouldn't sell him at a knock-down price. What I'm most disappointed with is that the much heralded Dr Phab hasn't delivered the faster rehabilitation of players like Evan that we were hoping for.In my total guesswork opinion Evan hasn't been fully fit since that Liverpool thug Matip Achilles raked him, then smiled at the ref and got away with the most clear cut red card you'll ever see.

Agreed it's a risk, but if we got a rejuvinated Evan Ferguson back at Lancing for pre-season training in the summer it could be a massive boost for next season. Obviously in the near future we need a Welbeck replacement and they do not grow on trees and come with a huge price-tag. I say keep the faith with Evan.I’m not sure loaning him to West Ham is sensible.
Not great optics if they finish above us.
The guy to go for is Sesko at Leipzig if we want a player close to Welbeck’s attributes. They are are buying and selling club so a deal would be possible in the summer. Unfortunately, it’s going to take £50m. The £20m gamble on Tzimas looks far more likely.Agreed it's a risk, but if we got a rejuvinated Evan Ferguson back at Lancing for pre-season training in the summer it could be a massive boost for next season. Are you dreaming? Arsenal couldn’t get Sesko over the line for £85m this window. The guy to go for is Sesko at Leipzig if we want a player close to Welbeck’s attributes. That said, when we gambled £25m on a very young and inexperienced Baleba, we certainly made the right choice.
Why don't we just do a loan swap with Leverkusen for Boniface and Ferguson? We tried to sign him but were blocked by the transfer embargo with USG before he went to Leverkusen so we have obviously been interested in the not too distant past. This way Evan gets a move and game time with Leverkusen and we get striker cover as well. Stops Evan going to a PL rival like West Ham too.
Yes it was thanks I got my thugs mixed upFabinho wasn't it?
Objectively speaking, Boniface is worth much more than Ferguson. Boniface is actually performing now, none of this paying for potential. Why don't we just do a loan swap with Leverkusen for Boniface and Ferguson? Said similar in a different thread. Ferguson is more valuable to the club that a 31 year old who may not see the end of next season. Pedro / Rutter will inevitably be off in the summer and we will need another striker. I think the best option is to loan Ferguson out, then we can reconvene in the summer when there is more time to thrash this issue out.The issue with this is if/when we decide FH is not the right man in the next 12-18 months, and we’ve sold the next Alan Shearer for a set of tracksuits. I agree he doesn’t fit the system (assuming we have a system). But I’m less convinced about the system. I’m not trusting the process I guess

£40m!"There is confidence [at West Ham] that a deal for Ferguson can be struck. A loan with an option to buy has been discussed but sources believe a bid of about £40m could be enough for a sale." https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...brighton-ricardo-pepi-bid-psv-transfer-latest
Pedro will be off I think, but I doubt Rutter will be after just a season here.Said similar in a different thread.
