so if you stop going, you are comitted to pay your £80 a month for as long as your "contract" remains

Correct. That Ken fella likened it to a car lease agreement. And he said, rather clumsily I must say, that if you stopped paying 'we would come after you.'

So for those without season tickets atm and unlikely to get a season ticket in the north stand where is going to be the best place to go for atmosphere?
When the Falmer For All team had a wander around the other week, Martin Perry was describing the North Stand as the "atmospheric stand".

The back of the top tier of the West Stand is stratospheric. Not for folks who are afraid of heights.

If I hadn't gone for 1901, it would definitely be the North for me. It has to be the most fun stand. The family end of the East Stand is going to be so tightly controlled that this will kick on to the full stand.

The top of the West Stand is a long way up unless you get some of the early rows which will probably be taken by the ten year season ticket holders who apparantly have first priority. So its back of the bottom tier in the West or North Stand I would have thought.

So the commitment is quite substantial.

£1000 up front and a minimum of 5 years at £76 per month. Making £5,560. Plus VAT making £6,672. Committed, no matter what.

but you can sell it during that time, which I suspect would not be too difficult.

You'd like to hope not, but it all depends on what's happening on the pitch.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that someone could find themselves falling upon hard times and being lumbered with a hard-to-sell asset (maybe one of the 'wing' seats) with an ongoing commitment they are unable to afford to pay. The club will 'send the boys round' and probably rightly so - why should every other fan subsidise these situations, nomatter how unfortunate.

I don't think this is correct. When I was there, if you default, they simply take the seat back, i.e. you lose either your £500 for 5 years, or £1000 lifetime down payment. There is nothing further that would happen. The club then have a seat back they can resell themselves.

I imagine it will be like any other finance agreement (which effectively it is) you buy a licence then make regular monthly payments.

I assume if you fall behind with payments your licence and seat will be repossessed through the traditional channels.

All good if so and probably overly generous.

Imagine the club are doing very badly, interest in tickets is low and there are a lot of empty seats all around the stadium. It might suddenly be very attractive to dump the 1901 tickets and pick up cheaper tickets elsewhere in the ground as and when. Not a very appealing proposition for the club though.

Of course, we all hope that such a scenario never plays out.

This is not what I was told. I was told very clearly that it is a 5 year deal for the ticket. Maybe this has changed? If it has it is open for abuse.

Good initial post, most interested in the season ticket prices revealed. I hope those prices are for all, not just renewers, and also that there are some of the £350 ones left by the time they go on general sale.

If it follows any normal pattern, I'm guessing the cheapest seats will be in the North, and maybe down by the corner flags in the East, and possibly West.

Theoretically I think you are right. Realistically I can't see it happening, certainly not for the next three years. The only way it is likely to happen is if Mr Bloom runs into financial trouble himself. One would like to think that is a long way away given he has just spunked £90million on a folly, therefore assuming he has considerably more than that.

So yes there is a chance, but I doubt it's even a 1% risk.

Now going off to try and find out what Bloom is worth...... you'd think there would've been a thread on it already

Less than a new Korean car, and more enjoyable for sure.

The arse end of Hangleton
thought id pass on some bits of info i managed to gather. im sure alot of them you already know as i did from reading on here .

only 175 1901 seats left expected to be sold by next week. they originally planned to have them all sold out by first game.

the seats are only available at the ends now ie next to the away fans (and the wags section) level with penalty spot or by the north stand level with the byline.

one chap has already asked the club if he can buy a 1901 seat in a good position for 3000 quid . looks like a good investment!!

season ticket prices will be officially announced in november and people will be invited down similar to 1901 , with 10 year season ticket holders at withdean being the first to get invited.

prices he said would be between 350 and 640, this was new info to me.

the undersoil heating is zoned to save money . so often one corner is frozen so just heat that. only a few clubs in europe have this.

it was tony bloom who insisted that the north stand didnt get sponsored , in his words to give something back to the fans (top bloke)

the bloke who did the tour said bloom is seriously minted , gave the impression lot of investment in playing side to come.

they will be dissapointed if current season ticket uptake isnt doubled to 10000, they think 15000 could be achieved. only 1500 tickets will be made available the rest will be sold as season tickets if possible.

the company doing the marketing says out of the clubs they have done (8 i think he said ) that we have the best potential . they were also in charge of the kc stadium .

the roof is specifically designed with acoustics in mind and to provide a nice bright atmosphere in there.

the pitch has these elastic microfibres in it . the pitch is costing half million i think.

the east stand is zero tolerance

sure there is more but im sure youve nodded off already.

what came across is that tony bloom wants the very best of everything in the stadium form the pitch to the roof to the seats etc etc . they said it will be the best stadium for its size in the country and is up there with the emirates and wembley for its standards, fixtures and fittings etc.

happy days eh? with the team playing the best football in years i am seriously excited about being an albion fan.

thanks tony and dick for making this happen.

sorry if youve heard all this before

Good report - thanks.

Makes me tempted to get a couple of those last seats - how do you get the tour ?

No it has not changed, and it is a 5 year deal for the seat if you go down the 5 year route. Why is it open for abuse? You pay £500 for a seat with a commitment for monthly payments. If you default the club still have your £500 and a seat to resell.
