My one complaint. Too many hills.
i didnt ask you i asked buzzer , and as i stated come back and talk to me when the moulsecoomb you grew up in has changed beyond all recognition and its you that is made to feel an outsider, as for your missus , i just dont believe you , brighton is a pretty cosmopolitan place and i doubt even the most yasmin alibhai- brownesque woman would say that. You didn't ask about other people. You said "tell me truthfully how you would feel if worthing or indeed brighton was 35% muslim and 20% african in 10 years time". And my truthful answer is that I'm not bothered - and to anticipate any "it's easy to say that" comments, I pointed out that I'd already lived in areas of high immigration.
In fact, Mrs Gwylan- who's a Londoner through and through - has one complaint about Brighton: it's just too white.

Why is the British far-Right gaining representation in councils and the European Parliament but the far-Left not? (The first-past-the-post electoral system prevents either extreme from gaining seats in the House of Commons.)

I wonder why you didn't stay in any of the ethnically mixed paradises that you mention, and came home to good old 94.3 per cent white brighton ?Sorry, I thought this was a messageboard and posts were for people to comment on. And I can truthfully say, I'd have no problem if Moulsecoomb or Coldean where I live now, was 50% black or Asian.
I can assure you my missus moans about the ethnic mix in Brighton a lot. It's scarcely that cosmopolitan - it's 94.3% white according to the last census. Mind you, that's a big change from when I was a kid, we had about 3 black or Asian kids in my school the whole time I was there.
That's an interesting question.
It's not quite true to say that the far-left aren't gaining representation, the Socialist Party has several councillors but it is true to say that they're dwarved by the BNP's.
I think there are several reasons. One is that there's no big far-left party in the same way that the BNP is a big far-right party. There are about seven or eight parties fighting for prominence - and most of them HATE each other. The BNP is better organised and has seen off the other challengers.
It's also the case that many of them don't see councils or Parliament as the way forward and see the streets as the battleground - the very policy that the BNP has rejected in recent years. And finally, many of the people who used to fit into far-left policies, have become more involved in environmental issues and a lot of have gone over to the Green party.
The far-left themselves would probably give some nonsense about a lack of class consciousness. I'm sure Trotsky would have had something to say.

perhaps "anti-fascist" is a catch all term that includes muslim extremists ?? That isnt too hard to envisage is it ? Your faux innocence about this sort of thing is so transparently false you shouldnt bother anymore.
I do not accept his or his wifes conclusion that a minority white population might in someway improve the Brighton that I grew up in and enjoyed so much, I think its called my roots !

Dear me, you must get very bored with all us limp liberal Albion fans. Why not go back to your Chelski mates, you're bound to have more in common with whatever remains of the Ginger Pig's little mob.
I didn't say that or imply that. I said, in answer to Bushy's question, I wasn't bothered if the white population of Brighton was in a minority. I was speaking for myself not other people. And I certainly didn't say that it would be better if it were - or anything like that.
