Wouldn't it be great to be able to attract an England International in the shape of Sol Campbell, lure him with a lucrative contract with various bonuses and image rights deals, but then refuse to pay and lift the FA Cup along the way.

This is spot on. The taxman isn't the only person out of pocket.

In another issue, I wonder if the Premier Leage have a contingency plan for a team going bust. Only 2 demotions? Asking for an extra promoted club from the foorball leage? Incidentally, how would the football league and all of the leagues thereafter cope with this?

Does this still aplly if the club goes into liquidation and the assets are sold off to pay the creditors ? Football stadia are potentially worth more as retail or housing redevelopments.

Yes but Pompey is a carbuncle on the face of the South Coast and Fratton even more so. Still I suppose if you lived in South London it wouldn't seem so bad

Brighton factually.....
All this 10 points if a team goes into admin, is not enough of a deterrent in my opinion as with Palarse (not picking on you just because) 10pts is nothing. It should be automatic relegation down to the next division and if not sorted by the end of another time limit, down you go again. We were screwed once by owners and could well be in the future, and know all to well that things can spiral out of control. But enough is enough throwing silly money around that is not even yours is theft.

Inland revenue claiming £11M which is £4M more than Pompey reckon!

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
Why would anyone want to invest in Portsmouth FC and pay off all those debts? The dream is over. They are not going to be able to expand Fratton Park, they are not going to be able to build a new stadium overnight, they have an enormous wage bill and chances are they are going to get relegated.

There would be much more likely candidates to buy if you wanted a football team.

Delaying the inevitable, hopefully.
