I'm stunned at the content of this thread. Stunned that people are more concerned by the rights and wrongs of singing 'have you ever seen you dick?' to a fat steward, and babies at football, than they are by one of our crowd yelling "Go right through the ******", when their number 10 dared run with the ball.

Well, I don't remember hearing that being said, but if true it is quite right that the culprit was slung out. From what has been said in this thread it sounds like the bloke concerned was a few rows back from me (not Brett, I was in a different block, same one as the players), and I can remember him giving just about every one of the opposition players shit at one point or another (abusing Alan Wright for being short!), I tuned him out after a while. If it was him that was slung out then that would explain why I didn't hear any more from him in the second half.

That was the one, yes.

In fact I bet it was the CURRY that Brett had on the FRIDAY.

He probably had an OFFENSIVE stink.

hello everyone :bigwave:

Still makes me chuckle just how ridiculous the whole event was.

Yes I sung who ate all the pies with everyone else, i think because myself and andy were on the end of the row we were picked on and ejected (without a fuss may i add)

Hopefully I'll be allowed in on wednseday :)

You did look remarkably cheerful as you were escorted out. What was the actual reason they gave you?

being racially abusive towards the steward, i was laughing because i said that singing "who ate all the pies" is not ractist.
thats when he said if i try to get back in the police will arrest me, so i carried on laughing and walked off to the pub to cheer Lofts goal with the legend that is Mr Stelling and his Soccer Special

I wonder if that's how they treat all instances of racism (ie no arrest or caution) or, because they were just taking the piss with you, they just turfed you out.

They seem to have different 'degrees' of chucking out then. Did they take you out behind the goal [the way we came in]?

Because the other guy who was rightly nabbed for racism, and the first guy [may have had a FEW beers] were taken along to the corner, past the coffee place, where plod were waiting for them.

Interesting that having ACCUSED you of the same thing, they dealt with you differently.

i was queueing for some halftime food, and just as i got to the counter a steward came up to me and asked me for a word. He then took me round the corner where 4 other stewards were waiting. Then they said, actually we are going to throw me out. They wouldnt even let me go back and get my coat.

Idiots, really. Whats the point?

I went down there at halftime to get a hot-chocolate for my nine year old. I had also joined in the 'who ate all the pies'. If they had picked me out at that point, do you think they would have let me go back for my coat, and my SON?

Just reading that again -another thought strikes me. It was quite a long queue, too. Good of them to let you queue to get right to the front, THEN throw you out  :D

I was so pleased when he got slung out ten minutes later..
In hindsight, though, I wish we as fellow Albion fans had confronted him at the time. I certainly wish I had, and have no doubt that I would have too, if I'd not had my little lad with me.

So you don't have the balls to confront this person and show your son that thois is wrong................

But you have the balls to call someone a fat bastard infront of your son!!

I bet he was very proud of dad.

Shit  I've just read my post back, in yours. Sorry, that should read 'IF I had joined in' [the pies chant].

Normally I probably would have, and apologies tiptop if that makes me a bad person, but I never swear in front of my kids. Not ever. Even when Cheltenham scored, I confined myself to a 'SAKE.

As for standing up for what you believe in, I agree with the sentiment entirely, but chose to leave it, for two reasons;

1. I didn't want to ruin my son's first ever away game, by making him watch his Dad have an argument with a stranger. You've no way of knowing how someone will react and his reaction to any comments may have not been pleasant.

2. The offending comment didn't even register with his innocent ears, and I didn't really want to bring it to his attention.
