Makes me smile when I hear or see comments about McGhee's public runts with (just two) players. They've either got short memories or are too young to remember Mullery's regular habit of critising players.

1. Fans are not shareholders they are customers, they may be addicted and brand loyal, but still customers.

2. Saying that McGhee does not like him is not slagging off the manager.

1. Ok, If I went into work today and started slagging the customer off I would get sacked, however you want to dice it Mcgammon is in the wrong.

2. I didn't say "slagging off" I said Mcgammon made a mockery of the manager ie telling a programme seller that Mcghee doesn't like him.

I'm not. He was saying that no chances were being made. I thought there were at least 5 good crosses into the box tonight, just no one on the end of them. :nono:

Exactly.. if you look at the top teams in the ccc the crosses that are made are attacked by the forward in the box.. especially Reading and sheff utd .. chances are then made on the back of that regardless if the forward wins it or not

1. How did Big Mac slag off the customer? Calling them a bunch of whingers is 100% accurate. He is entitled to defend himself, if the criticism is in public he can defend himself in public.

If you are going to sack him, then be consistent and sack Charlie, Tank and CKR too, who have also dared to say that the criticism is disproportionate and demoralising.

2. Have you ever said to someone else that someone does not like you (and lets face it, there are plenty of them)? Does not make a mockery of the manager

We are drilling down to the point now and this is where it gets very subjective.

1) I accept your point on other players, I still feel that Mcgammon was overly harsh and slightly unacceptable.

2) It's more the person Mcgammon said this too that made a mockery of the manager, the programme seller (!) for gods sake. Not very professional.

Internet wise we are pretty bad, but there are others that are worse

Try the Huddleboard (Celtic) where they are 7 points ahead of Hearts and 20 ahead of Rangers, and it is full of "STRACHAN OUT" threads. Also Jack Army (second in Div 1) has a "JACKETT OUT" thread on it tonight, and others are giving Trundle a rough time of it as he has not scored tonight.

The unusual thing about NSC is that as well as fans, we have players, (Tank, CKR) club officials (Insider) and the fifth estate (Harty) on here too.

So El Pres do you spend all your time on club message boards as well as porn ? :lolol:

Harty, just admit it. Mark McCammon OWNED you last night. :lolol:

If he ever plays for us again I suggest a rousing chorus of "Mark McCammon football genius"

The funniest thing was that Harty said that Trolley isn't good enough for this level and he would say that to his face. And then Trolley rang in to complain & Harty said he didn't say that at all, just that he wasn't good enough to get in the team at the moment as he isn't fit. I found it funny that Harty wouldn't even say it to him over the phone. Imagine if he had the chance to say it to the 6 foot million big lad's face. He'd be saying he's good enough for Brazil!

He knows he's leaving, and he made some excellent points & told the fans some home truths. Apart from Sunderland at home, probably his best performance came tonight on the phone-in

What he said!

And there are some ATROCIOUS WHINGERS at this club. Including the twat sat behind me who made me bite after 80 minutes of constant sniping. The coup de grace was when he wished CKR was injured.

Someone along from me made a very good point last night - Brighton fans have always expected too much. Rewind back to just after the playoff final when we were all talking about how difficult it would be to stay up, how we would struggle etc. Now it is a struggle as predicted and yet people constantly slag rather than support.

We all want new players, we all want wins. It ain't happening at the moment. So does that mean it is time to play the "I've watched this club for xxx years and pay the players wages" card and constantly slag? Everyone (myself included) whinges at a missed chance or strange decision by McGhee. If a player has a mare, I will call for him to be brought off. But if he subsequently plays again, he will have my support as he is representing MY team. If he is shit again, I will call for him to be subbed. But at the end of the day, MM picks the team and will never do so by democratic vote. People will always be unhappy with the team selection but to sit sniping for 90 minutes is not supporting your team. Having an opinion, expressing your opinion and constantly sniping at the players selected are very different things.

For me, McCammon has sealed his fate at the club by going public but was fully entitled to his right of reply - it is a public debate now, not a fanzine - and made some very salient points about support or lack thereof. I personally agree with the sentiment that he isn't good enough for this level but would be very disappointed if he thought the same and didn't feel the need to defend himself. The same as Ian Hart having his 5 minute rant about certain people on here criticising him. Right of reply is a two way street.

Before you drill down any further, at least have the courtesy to spell his :censored: name right.

I agreed with most of what Mark McGammon said.

Also how many forwards have had a run of more than 5 games this season, other that LK? His point about balls in the box etc..spot on. Good for him.

Also Harty was a bit harsh on air, fine saying privately, but as a paid contributor he has to be less biased surely. It is the "Fans" phone in after all.

McGhee holds a grudge for too long, we all say and do things in the heat of the moment that we may not mean..apologise and move on.

It was the best phone-in we have had though!!:D

It certainly beats DORIS from Lancing saying what nice hair OGH has.

I think before the next match Harty should say that FDM has a POOHSTRIPE in his boxers and get Kuipers on after the phone in 'for sure'.

GC (David) I wondered when you would give us the benefit of your King Solomon like wisdom, as always you didn't let me down.
Having listened to the feed and spoken to my producer I can still state I didn't back down, I'll admit even I was somewhat surprised by his call which has in some ways to be commended, but it is still my opinion he is not good enough at this level, he said it was because he was not match fit, to which I replied then prove me wrong.
Unfortunately for him I don't think even if fit he will get that chance.

Actually agreed with a lot of what McCammon had to say, and fair play to him for going on there and making his point. He was trying to emphasise that it is a team game and that to blame just the strikers is wrong, and that the fans are part of that team and the players need their help. He and Kerry both made reference to the fact that you can hear individual comments at Withdean, and it does not help the players.
The point about a lack of chances is pretty relevant if you ask me. Sure we may have got a few crosses into the box lastnight but with Hart and Carole upfront as opposed to a target man (McCammon maybe?) who's gonna get their head on them. Also by playing Carole upfront, it restricts the creative supply from the wing that he would normally provide.
Good phone in overall, other than the ten year kid. Harty "Who was your favorite player tonight"? Kid "No-one".

Unfirtunately for him I don't think even if fit he will get that chance.

Yet again, you single me out from the loads of other people on this thread who supported McCammon over you. As you said to the man himself, aren't I allowed an opinion? I've said it before and I will say it again - you can take the man out of the fanzine ...

And I'd be interested to see a transcript as I'm sure you categorically stated that, in your opinion
"He isn't good enough for this level", then, when confronted with the man himself , said that you didn't say that and started adding caveats about fitness.

Doesn't make any difference as it made great radio and has polarised opinion yet again. I'm just intrigued how much needle my posts seem to give you. I make my points as I see them and try to construct them without making personal attacks. And yet you always retort with cheap jibes with no comeback to my original points. And I love the David in brackets like it is clever. My name, address and email address currently reside in a sticky thread on this board. :lolol:

McCammon should NEVER play for this club again.

He blamed the strikers not scoring on the midfielders and then when pressed on that he backtracked and mumbled something like "not just them, defenders can cross as well."

Then picking on the fans?

The same fans whose hard work, money and determination in the face of adversity has kept this club going as well as paying HIS wages.

Tosser.

Interesting to see what the anti Leon Knight brigade have to say about this. Questioning the manager, team mates and fans on the radio, admitting publicly he has fallen out with McGhee and making it quite clear he would rather have been playing for Watford reserves.

Go now.
