In your opinion of course.

I personally thought his acting is very good, after all, he is still only a kid...but hey....

Thats what I mean Gaffer, these actor are kids but the fiercely critical masses of NSC who are no doubt perfect in everything they ever do, are expecting a performance like Al Pacino or Bob De Niro, what the feck

Absolutly its only my opinion, i think his acting is door handle, he is wooden, has a rubbish voice and has the same dopey gormless expression for every emotion he is trying to convey, i know he's a kid, but so is Rupert Grint (Ron) and he is brilliant.

If Daniel Radcliffe should be stoned to death for crimes against cinema then bug-eyed Hobbit cunt Elijah Wood should be skinned alive and submerged in a vat of boiling oil

But Elijah Wood actually brings something to the character, he can actually use his face to showthe emotion of the character, unlike radcliffe who always looks like hes trying to tease out a silent fart

I did not personally rate the new Potter film that much, whats all the fuss about ??? , Narnia was supremely better

I did like the Dragon chasing Potter on his broomstick, very impressive sequence

I think you have to temper this with the fact that we are of a different generation to quite a few of the posters on here and therefore will have different views.

We rarely go the the flix and teherfore any films we go to see are ones we really want to go and see and enjoy.

There are lots of people highbrow and not who are very quick to rubbish stuff because it is "cool" to do so. Harry Potter is a classic example.

HP is extremely well written, rattles along at a tremendous pace and most of all very readable. The films were never going to be representative of the books in total as the last three books were huge. I think all the films were magical(sic) the action shots in the last film extremely well done, and the last scenes in both the last three films extremely powerful and well acted...by everyone!

Its all a matter of what floats your boat and also having the guts to make your own decision as opposed to reading what a critic says and taking that as gospel. the biggest critics of the HP fils are those who have not seen them ( and the same goes for the books)

Isn't Elijah Wood the bloke in the West Ham hoolie film? Doubt very much he brings something to that particular masterpiece

I suppose your right Gaffer, It must be considered uncool for the NSC Hood to admit to liking Narnia, they have a different language to old gits like us and I haven't heard of any of the bands they like.

Still I can rest easy in my bed knowing I am right and they are wrong.

I love the Harry Potter Stories, I like the films, The thing stopping me from really enjoying the films is radcliffe, he is a three legged rocking horse of an actor, he is over rated and useless at his job IMO, i don't think i have been quick to rubbish him and certainly don't consider myself 'cool' (hence reading Harry Potter). But i do agree most critics haven't read the books and/or seen the films.

but at the time, he fitted the profile perfectly. I think of all of them he looks like what I would have thought HP would have looked like after reading the books. ( probably Ron too)

Therefore they had to take a punt on following it through.

the worst thing ever IMHO is where a character changes actor/actress during a series ( and HP is a series of films)

I know its spurious, but the only one I can think of, but Allo Allo changed actors and lost the initial impact....
