If we are going to start playing our own style and taking the game to the opposition more, than consistancy of selection should be part of this?

Consistency of selection can ONLY follow consistency of performance. It's pretty basic.

Your favoured pairing Knight and CKR did start out as McGhee's first choice. But perhaps with games like Reading at home and Hull away you didn't see them perform quite poorly. At Hull away, we only got back into the game when Big Mac replaced an ineffective CKR.

Thank heavens McGhee did not accept your simplistic theory Uncle Buck of carrying on picking Leon and CKR REGARDLESS of this form.

He paired Leon and Jake and this pair did give our season the lift it deserved with the Plymouth peformance.

But then CKR would fight back in the next couple of months with good performances off the bench.

The fact is, until Knight committed career suicide with us, McGhee was just rotating these 2 players - and rightly so, as there was little to pick between the promising teenagers CKR and Jake.

Like we use to pre McGhee when Withdean was something of a fortress?

You mean the second half of the play-off season when we never lost at Withdean. Manager: who again?

You cannot have consistancy of performance without a consistant selection policy.

Different sport, but in the Ashes the English cricket side used 12 players in 5 games and win the series. Go to Pakistan, have to use a number of players and lose the series.

If we want to go down to that division, Coppell was incharge for 6 home games in the league and we won 5 and drew 1.

Better than McGhee's record.

Played 15
Won 11
Drew 3
Lost 1

Errr...very childish, they both had excellent records.

Well under Coppell in this division we played 17, won 7, drew 5 and lost 5.

That sort of home form over a season would play a big role in keeping you up.

With how many goals from Zamora ?

And Sidwell in the midfield.

Only two rabbits that McGhee has to pull out of his hat then.

Coppell used the resources available to him more effectively?

After all he inherited a squad and added Blackwell, Rodger, Beasant (due to injuries), Imgarmasson and for a while Sidwell.

The squad McGhee has is his, other than McPhee he has offered the contracts to all the professionals here. McPhee was done just before he joined.
