Can someone please enlighten me as to the last time a club was "reprimanded" for having people dancing around the goal in celebration. How were Blackpool reprimanded ?.

Please don't respond with Villa vs Birmingham where the lobbed Flares at each other. Or West Ham v Millwall etc. Just a normal celebratory pitch invasion.

How were we reprimanded after Swindon at the Withdean?. Or during promotion last year ?.

Already answered it. But I think it depends what you consider a pitch invasion.

Can anyone answer my questions.

Does anyone look back at the old vids versus Millwall, Liverpool, Ipswich and think, Bloody naughty idiots invading the pitch. OR do you sit back and smile, and say, "crikey I remeber those days.... Great times.... what a game, what a goal, what a celebration" ???

I dont agree with the pitch invasion but I do wonder if any of the Jeremy Vine brigade on here have even ventured onto the field of play before...some people are just whiter than white.

Really important match???.....I may go as far to say this is the most important match for me this season, very closely followed by the away game.

I don't think either. I'm quite indifferent to old footage of pitch invasions. But then, I don't pay to watch old footage of pitch invasions, and if I did, I'd know in advance there would be a pitch invasion and would be able to fast forward through it. They hold no interest for me and never have. The only time I've gone on the pitch is after the final game of the season. When I was 10.

What if we score in the 13th minute. Fans invade the pitch to celebrate. Then we concede in the 25th and 64th minutes and lose 2-1. Doesn't that make the pitch invasion more embarrassing? Shouldn't we celebrate wins more than goals that may prove to be meaningless?

So the palace players have to run for their lives, the palace fans pile in, a brawl breaks out, and we lose the ability to attract the sort of players we've just brought in, the club get a hefty fine and Tony Bloom wonders why the f*** he bothered. I'm in!

Do you work for murdoch.?

What Acker79 said... last game of the season when its going to have a dramatic, instant effect , compared a league match (appreciated it a derby) in the early days of the season where anything could change. Just think it would look stupid this early on in the season

Which is basically what I have said. Pitch invasions are not something that can be pre determined or planned, with the exceptions of protests at the Goldstone. Both the examples I have mentioned have been last minute HUGE goals meaning Play offs on both occasions. I think too many people seem to consider Hooliganism and Pitch invasions as the same thing... the same idiots when it is NOT.

No a 13th minute goal against Palace is not worthy of a huge pitch invasion, and I GUARANTEE there would not be one. But unlike some, personally I will not start tearing up my season ticket if 50 people start dancing behind the North stand goal in jubilation.

A full on Pitch invasion that delays the game etc has only ever happened, and will only ever happen for league winning / play off winning moments.

Incidentally, I hope you did not go to the York City game at the Goldstone. You must have been mighty unhappy.

Very good point. I ran on the pitch when Wilkins scored (and a few years later in the famous York City game) and I agree with the likes of Tummy Burger that at the right time a pitch invasion is just a natural extension of the joy of celebrating. But sorry Sid, there's no 'has to be done' about it; if we score early and then go on to lose it'll just make Palace's victory all the sweeter knowing that some Brighton fans had had the footballing equivalent of a premature ejaculation.

EDIT: And it IS only Palace, it's not as if we're playing anyone good.

The hallowed AMEX turf should stay just that, for the Brighton legends, not for pissed up attention seekers.

what about when we promotion to the premiership one day?

The three threads I've read from Sid are the following.

1 - Well done the Millwall fans who are going to beat up the rioters.
2 - Should we throw a bottle at Glenn Murray.
3 - Should we envade the pitch.

hmmmm...there seems to be some sort of theme to his posts....
