Kirkland is looking dodge as wel
Foster and Carson are in a relegation team albeit on loan
Green is never in form.

Along with Robbo waving at most things we are in the poo.

This is the issue of them all playing in struggling sides, it starts to knock their confidence.

I do think more pressure needs to be put on Robinson, but I have been saying that for a couple of years now...

If you play Ashton and Rooney, you would get the same issue as playing Crouch and Rooney, which is that they both like to drop deep to get the ball.

You need somebody up the pitch in the Owen mold and then allow Ashton if he plays to play deep. However he is not better than Rooney, but I would think a useful squad option.
This is true,However somewhere along the line Owen will be out with injury and rooney will be suspended so someone has to take the step up.

i just feel Lennon would be out of his depth at right wing back...

hes not even played in that position for Spurs...

alot to ask him to do it on the international stage...

Nor had Anderton going into France 98.

But I think half the issue with England's goalkeepers is that there is not enough quality out there to put pressure on the number 1. Kirkland was always touted to be the best of that crop, but he has struggled to stay fit and the one season he is fit and playing, it is in a side nose diving its way out of the top flight.

Foster is getting a chance, but if you look at the keepers to pick from, other than Robinson they are generally at struggling side;

Kirkland
Foster
Carson
Green

The trouble is the other alternative is to go back to David James.

what order of selection would u have the goalkeepers in then?

But then if you have Wallcott as cover for Owen and Ashton as cover for Rooney, the squad does not look as thread bare as it currently seems to be.
Wallcott has a lot to do in the next year or so to be good enough.

Lampard on the left will just be laughable but hey anything to get the FA see sense and get rid of McClaren.

My XI

A Goalkeeper (really don't care all pretty much the same)

G Neville
Ferdinand
Woodgate
A Cole

Hargreaves

Gerrard
Carrick
Barton

Rooney
Owen

4-1-3-2

also find a place for Nolan on the bench

Doh got used to that.

:jester:

Robbo
Foster
Carson

:D

thats a fair selection...

theres not a great deal between them 3 in my view...

Carson just looks the best option in my opinion...

This is true, but apart from a shite air kick robbo has not done anything majorly stupid. (I am ready to be corrected as not seen last few games)

I thought he was more at fault for the other Croatia goal, positionally he was all over the place.
