Uncle Buck said:I would guess if fit the strikers in the squad would probably be;
Owen, Rooney, Crouch, Ashton and Defoe / Johnson.
Other than Defoe and Johnson I think there is some quality there. Also there is no reason by 2008 (if we qualify) that Walcott will not actually be ready for international football.

talk me through it...
Buzzer said:Just a personal preference. I've always been impressed with how he's played for England. More so than Terry.
You're happy with Beckham, Owen and Robinson though?

RonnieO'Sullivan said:yeah i quite like that side obivously Owen is proven, i no i said fully fit but realistically he won't be...
and regarding Robinson i just feel he exagerrates way to much and costs goals through it...
But with 3 centre backs (two with shit hot pace) this should not be a great issue.RonnieO'Sullivan said:theres attacking and theres asking a player to play right wing back who cannot defend very well...
against a top opposition side he would be exploited down that flank and would spend most of the time defending something hes not known for...

Kinky Gerbils said:Ashton - forgot about him - would be good alongside owen/rooney.
Kirkland is looking dodge as welUncle Buck said:But I think half the issue with England's goalkeepers is that there is not enough quality out there to put pressure on the number 1. Kirkland was always touted to be the best of that crop, but he has struggled to stay fit and the one season he is fit and playing, it is in a side nose diving its way out of the top flight.
Foster is getting a chance, but if you look at the keepers to pick from, other than Robinson they are generally at struggling side;
Kirkland
Foster
Carson
Green
The trouble is the other alternative is to go back to David James.
