Beckham and Owen in for Lennon and Crouch. Robinson in goal and possibly Ledley King instead of Terry.

King for Terry?

talk me through it...

Again it shows that we are not as good as we think we our, our squad strengh is rather gash.

I would guess if fit the strikers in the squad would probably be;

Owen, Rooney, Crouch, Ashton and Defoe / Johnson.

Other than Defoe and Johnson I think there is some quality there. Also there is no reason by 2008 (if we qualify) that Walcott will not actually be ready for international football.

Ashton - forgot about him - would be good alongside owen/rooney.

Just a personal preference. I've always been impressed with how he's played for England. More so than Terry.

You're happy with Beckham, Owen and Robinson though?

dam right, attack for a change

theres attacking and theres asking a player to play right wing back who cannot defend very well...

against a top opposition side he would be exploited down that flank and would spend most of the time defending something hes not known for...

But I think half the issue with England's goalkeepers is that there is not enough quality out there to put pressure on the number 1. Kirkland was always touted to be the best of that crop, but he has struggled to stay fit and the one season he is fit and playing, it is in a side nose diving its way out of the top flight.

Foster is getting a chance, but if you look at the keepers to pick from, other than Robinson they are generally at struggling side;

Kirkland
Foster
Carson
Green

The trouble is the other alternative is to go back to David James.

But with 3 centre backs (two with shit hot pace) this should not be a great issue.

no Beckham lets move on...

Robinson read my post above...

Owen i agree but don't ever see him being fit for a long period of time...

If you play Ashton and Rooney, you would get the same issue as playing Crouch and Rooney, which is that they both like to drop deep to get the ball.

You need somebody up the pitch in the Owen mold and then allow Ashton if he plays to play deep. However he is not better than Rooney, but I would think a useful squad option.

Kirkland is looking dodge as wel
Foster and Carson are in a relegation team albeit on loan
Green is never in form.

Along with Robbo waving at most things we are in the poo.

What he said, but replace Woodgate for Terry and make Gerrard captain.

i just feel Lennon would be out of his depth at right wing back...

hes not even played in that position for Spurs...

alot to ask him to do it on the international stage...
