Who says that's all he did? A mate of his on this board? Call me picky, but I'd rather trust the judgement of a court with the facts to hand.

No, it's in the paper as to wat they were caught on CCTV doing. Hang on....

Wrong place, wrong time, obvious lack of coordination.

He was involved in violence - he threw a punch, which he obviously wanted to connect, and he picked up a chair - why? Not to take away and sit on for a better view. If he wasn't involved, he should have kept on walking.

So that deserves 18 months in prison does it??

Have you ever thrown a punch at anybody?

18 months for a "missed slap and moving furniture" would be harsh, but I expect that he did a little more than that and his defender is being economical with the truth.

Yes thats all he did, you 'expect' he did more than that.

Why do you expect that then?

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
I did some work experience with the judge in question. He was a very fair guy and I would trust him as well.

Plus the punishment is issued to deter them from doing it again. Someone could easily have died and the intent to cause harm was there, otherwise you wouldnt throw chairs at people or hit them with table legs. Shame the ban from football was not longer than 7 yrs.

Yes, i have thrown a punch before BUT

Not because 'they had a funny accent' or 'they wore a white shirt' and definitely not when surrounded by a bunch of wankers throwing chairs and smashing windows

What was your reason for resorting to violence?

Can't find the bit in the Srgus, it's not online but there was a run down of what all of those involved did.

Not exactly the death penalty, more like self inflicted suicide.
So they were all 'scum' too were they? Just getting their just desserts?

Yep, frequently - but not as some pissed up yob on the streets attacking a load of people in a pub. At worst he's a hoolie in the making, at best he's a sheep who followed middle aged idiots who have not grown up or grown out of this behaviour. 18 months is tough shit - he won't serve that, and hopefully next time he will engage brain before fist. Hard lesson to learn, but the CCTV evidence is pretty damning - and the police are still chasing down the other members of the <cough> firm.

Can't these people get it into their thick heads that the club doesn't want them, and there is more to rent from Blockbusters than "Football Factory"?

Because if that is truly all it was for, then it was excessive, but we all know that those who defend these people are economical with the truth at the best of times! We have had versions of how the yobs "ran" other firms, when in fact it was two blokes and dog that they sort of elbowed when they walked past before running away shouting "we done you, we done you".

I wouldn't mind seeing a scan of his charge sheet (not some photoshopped shite), or a proper court report.

Let's start a campaign to free the hoolies.

I suggest we ask Thomas Cook to fund a 3 week luxury cruise for all of them because they're not bad chaps really

They're hooligans who've dragged the name of The Albion down by their actions. They smashed up a pub, terrorised normal people inside, terrorised passers-by. Whether their punches connected or not-the intent was there. In one of the best weeks ever for Albion fans these morons grab the headlines and have possibly stiffened the resolve of the anti Falmer brigade to contest the decision because these idiots are the football fans they perceive as all as.

Thanks a bunch you morons.

Who do you throw punches at?

People who attend the same martial arts classes as me. A few years back, people who got in the same boxing ring as me.

Not been known to throw chairs through windows though.

I think what I am trying to say is that yes they should be punished, but those sentances are appalling.

Conspiracy to distribute child pornograhy carries a lesser punishment!
