That is correct. Man City game will be 23 or 24 Sept. 3rd round day.
At least we will know who our 3rd round opponents will be!

From MCFC site - looks like we'll have to wait a few weeks:

"However the football authorities have agreed with the Club that our Carling Cup second round tie can take place in the week of the rest of the Carling Cup third round ties, which begins on Monday September 22nd. The draw for round two is made on August 13th"

so we'll have to play the 2nd round and possibly the 3rd round in the same week? ???

Highly unlikely that it will be televised if its played the same week as the 3rd round matches.

Time to call in a few favours methinks on this one.

That rulings a shame. Means Sky will choose to show some exciting all Prem clash instead. Fulham v Bolton anyone?

The game is also likely to be played on the Wednesday as they have games on a Sunday either side of this particular week.

Gutted they lost out to AC Milan for Ronaldinho, now. How AMAZING would that have been!?

No way will they play their reserves. It's their best chance of winning something, and they'll see us as a side capable of an upset. It'll be virtually their strongest team I reckon. Ooh just imagine Elano v Fraser in the midfield. Wonder who'll win that one!

No way they will play a strong team. They would rather take the UEFA more serious.

I bet you 75% of their team is "first-choice." They might leave one or two out, but no way will it be a reserve line-up. This is Manchester CITY we're talking about, not United, they're not good enough to put out their reserves and be confident of winning.
Both Man U and Arsenal always field there kids in this comp.

I bet Ronaldhino is gutted when he hears the draw as well.

He`ll think of that chance of lining up against Kerry Mayo (maybe) gone forever.
