I made no statement which would in definition mean a definite or clear expression of something in speech or writing, I made a comment which in essence is a remark expressing an opinion or reaction, and therefore wouldn't expect a reply to claim 'fact'. Bit of a curve ball thrown in there.
All I can add to this is that he looked extremely happy to be a Brighton player when he was substituted. His body language towards the fans was top class.
