Wise advice for the summer, but during the heating season, that hot water drawn into the pipework should reduce slightly the amount of heat required from your system. However, a cheaper way would be to boil a stove kettle on a gas ring.
It depends on what sort of central heating system you have. If you have a header tank then this could, in extreme circumstances, harbour such nasties as Legionella, so it is unwise to use the hot tap in this case, even if the water is boiled.
Of course it is; indeed, it was once the capital city of Scotland!

Just heard on the news that three places have been awarded city status to celebrate the jubilee. Didn't catch the other two due to my incredulity on hearing the first, which was 'Chelmsford in Essex'.
