Hi there,
I play for a Sussex Sunday side (Div 5) it's a new team and we've been hit by a few injuries, particularly in defence (especially centre backs). We're a mainly young side (apart from yours truly) so experienced players welcomed as much as the younger ones.
If you're tempted direct...
We had a 15k salary cap when we were in the Premier League http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/burnley/5639998/Burnleys-15k-per-week-salary-cap-bucks-footballs-freakonomics.html
I'm pretty sure when we negotiated contracts with a few players in the summer we brought that down to...
What was Barnes on at Brighton? I could try and find out what our wage cap is but I think our current ceiling is 10k (and I am confident only a couple of players are on this).
As for the "where has the money gone" questions. Well - it seems that Coyle nearly bankrupted us the season we got...
Hi chaps,
Bit of an admission, I'm a clarets fan living in Brighton. Just to comment that we have no money, we've actually lost several players to clubs simply because of the wage structure we have in place.
There's no way we'd be playing big money because we don't have it.
I'm very chuffed...
Hi all,
Looking for a pub to watch the Barca game on Saturday night, I thought the Smugglers would show it but apparently not according to their site and a phone call (though I'm unsure if the staff member I spoke to really knew).
Needs to be a pub in the town centre. Thought Belushis but that...
the problem is that with this style it's easy to identify when it doesn't work (i.e. a player mispasses at the back) but you don't get the contrasting example of a fail when the ball is needlessly pumped forward and this starts a move where a goal is conceded.
I don't know how Barnes normally...
Buckley did really well for you, but in the second half he was a bit too greedy on occasion. Thought Bridcutt was excllent, he allowed the centre backs to keep the ball, drew their midfield in, did loads of work and kept the tempo of possession.
Must admit I was pretty surprised to hear the long-ball advocates sat near me. Brighton were playing a neat passing game that looked to draw the Gills in narrow so they could hit the space made out wide. This worked really well in the first half - the Gills midfield were drawn to the ball on...
the handball was certainly that - but the full back was several years outside the penalty area. Their big lad in the middle went looking for a penalty in the second half, ref indicated he should get up - if so he should have been booked. Ironically the rep kept his cards in his pocket on that...
Hi all,
Not a seagulls fan as such but went along with the missus and sat in the East Stand. Really impressive all round from the amazing pie to the padded seats.
The stuff on the big screen was very good too. I liked the club promos being shown before the match, the in game footage reminded...
