10.45 - some activity on the West side. Looks like they're lining up and forming a bit of a slope at the south end. Could this mean that the eagerly awaited demolition and acquisition of the rest of the site is not that far off?

OGH can work it out, why can't the midfielders?

Too much hoofing by the goalkeeper too. In fact at the Stockport game it was almost 100% Wide players starved of possession. No midfielders looking for space to receive a well directed throw. The success rate of the hoofing 'tactic' (by success rate I mean possession retained to build an...

11.30 - two workmen caught on camera in 'thrusting' incident (far left). Third workman looks discretely away whilst waiting his turn

    South Stand

Is the more recent excavation and formwork to the right of the massive thrust block construction all part of the same thing - or are we seeing foundations going in for the south stand?

    22nd August 1964

Fee of £5,000 if I remember correctly (plus settling his gambling debts I dare say). I was there...Who did they play that day? Barrow?

Looks like the east stand steelwork has arrived at the far end - the longer horizontal steel beam that's gone up today looks like it's the equivalent to the one nearest the web cam. Less than five weeks - a m a z i n g.

    Seniors ticket prices

Insider - can you please clarify the qualification age for seniors ticket prices. It was 60 but I thought it had changed to 65 this season. Now I've been told it's back to 60. Is this true? And does the same apply for season tickets?

    Blue Steel

NJ - I wonder if you can tell me what the panels finished in glorious BHA blue which arrived on site this morning are for? Also I don't understand what is happening at the front of the east terracing at the far end. In your own good time!

Interesting developments today... 1. PCC terracing now getting closer to far end of east stand 2. Scaffolding now being removed from the thrust wall thingy 3. Strange cage being erected at front of east stand terracing at the far end 4. Most intriguing of all - a consignment of what looked like...

How does our stadium compare to others.

We are indebted to Natterjack for his willingness to answer our questions. Inevitably questions he has already answered before will crop up and we should where possible help him by answering on his behalf. This one is a case in point - I can't be arsed to go looking, but the gist of what he said...

I wonder what will happen when the steelwork and the concreting on the East Stand is finished - which I would imagine is only a couple of weeks away. Will they carry on doing work on it or will they play catch-up with the rest until the basic structure of the stadium is in the same state as the...

I think you'll find that each of the roof arches will be assembled on site (where the pitch will be) and then put into position by cranes. That's what happened at Wembley I believe. So could be quite a spectacular sight. NJ would confirm this but after last night's result, he's keeping a...

    Help required Falmer Question

By my reckonong a second tier would accommodate 10 rows of seats, which would mean an exta 2,500ish bring capacity up to 25,000. Fill in the corners and you've got a 30,000 plus capacity.

They were trying to fix that piece a couple of weeks ago. It's a kind of end wall which fixes on the end of the precast concrete steps nearest the webcam. Next day a white van bearing the description concrete cutters turned up and men were see operating on it. Perhaps to no avail because it has...

    Official FALMER WEBCAM Merged Threads

If you took the time to read the immortal and reverred Natterjack's postings you would know the answer! He says there's going to be a low retaining wall pitch side, behind which they will form the steps going up the slope to meet the other precast steps already in place. What you're looking at...

I should add that you need to see Mr Straw's full frontal pics of the east stand to see the two holes I was referring to.

As Mrs EastbourneGull has said to me on more than one occasion..wrong hole! The holes for the temporary supports are the two you see on the East stand terrace. This hole (and three others methinks) will accomodate the permanent support for the roof structure

East stand slope now fully concreted it seems - next step to form in situ steps of the terrace. Not much visible evidence of progress on the upper steelwork although the blue crane has been hard at it. I wonder when they are going to fill that massive hole in the south east corner. How's it all...

    Falmer Today - 05/08/2009

I think Natterjack said they were holes for foundations of temporary pillars to support the roof when it's erected. Two on west, two on east.
