[Politics] Tory meltdown finally arrived [was: incoming]...

Exactly- so so given how he’s had those many months to prepare for the inevitable, it’s reasonable to think he’d have had something better ready than his usual flannel. Time for him to step up and put his boot on the throats of the lot of them

He will. Has finally agreed to resign and facilitate an orderly handover according to Sky. Would expect an interim PM to be announced very quickly followed by a leadership battle.

Leave it and walk away - they can write a book, perhaps present some TV shows (perhaps a panel show with some political satire involved), write for magazines and newspapers and take handouts from any generous Russian pals they might have. They’ll be fine :D

Whether he stays or goes Sunak etc are only taking calculated punts in terms of their own careers - by resigning, I suspect they’re wagering on him going very soon so they can step in. Nothing much about honesty and integrity involved with any of this cabinet (if there was they would have done...

Gross misconduct leading to dismissal in any firm I’ve ever worked for. The only way of that being avoided would be to resign before the investigation was complete….but even then any reference would be tainted unless you were graciously given the ‘opportunity’ to resign before the investigation...

Agree with most of that but the Lib Dems don’t need to bother that much with a detailed manifesto, they simply need to be ‘not Tory’ and for the Labour votes to switch. Labour need someone stronger than Starmer at the helm to make sure the Tories don’t get in IMO.
