Football in Vietnam - spreading the word!

Went to my first game last night. The ground is like a concrete Withdean! Not the best match I've ever seen but a few moments which were enough to have me returning in the coming weeks. SEAGULLS OVER SAIGON!!!!!

Which is 11pm here in Vietnam, midnight in Malaysia and much later in China. If the Asian market have any clout, it won't happen!

    Liverpool away - SUNDAY 19th / 4.30pm / ESPN - CONFIRMED!!

Surely Saturday or Sunday lunchtime. Liverpool are still quite popular in Asia and lunchtime would lead to maximum coverage over here. Any later and the game is on in the late evening or early hours.

    Holiday 2012

Vietnam all year! Just back from Christmas in Thailand and about to go to visit the Malaysian Seagulls in KL. Apart from that it'll be a week in the UK in April for Barnsley away and 2 weeks in August also in the UK for family reasons. Hope to catch a game though.

Very o/t - Anyone got experience of teaching English abroad?

Update on my story! Now in Vietnam teaching at a new University. Pay and conditions are good with a great apartment thrown in too. Quite a few newly qualified TEFL teachers here too so clearly the need for prior experience is falling in some places! Downside: Albion v Barnsley doesn't kick off...

    Where were you on 9/11?

I was driving from South Wales to Brighton to see us play Southampton in the League Cup. Somehow the game didn't seem relevant by the time kick-off came. Russ

Very o/t - Anyone got experience of teaching English abroad?

TEFL can be a career. It's not just for young people! I have no intention of returning to the UK for the foreseeable future!! If you have a CELTA (or equivalent) then there are many companies offering full time contracts with decent wages and paid holidays. Further study for a DELTA or MA will...
