Now you are starting to make yourself look a little bit silly, why are you talking about causing damage ? That doesn't even come into it, do you not think if one of the bikes had been damaged it would have been mentioned ?I never realised that, shows how much I swear on here.
I can't help it, I can't leave this, I know I should.
If I caused 2k's worth of damage (the cost of my bike) to each of say 10 cars in a line.
Would those car owners laugh and chalk it up to high spirits, whilst shrugging it off saying 'well nobody was hurt'.
Thrown at speed into a hedge that ISN'T made of feathers and kittens is no guarentee that nobody was hurt.

Have you been spying on me Sten ? Lycra driving is a secret fetish of mine.I don't think he particularly is, wehatepalace. So far this thread seems to be
cyclehaters: hahaha well funny innit
cyclists (and other reasonable people): err no, it was a stupid dangerous act that could have injured someone and caused damage.
If I was in a car, and I drove up behind you, beeped my horn and forced you to drive off into a bush, would that be funny? Or is it only funny because the people that do it wear lycra? What about if you were in your car wearing lycra? Would it be funny then?

Don't get me wrong, I can see his point but at no point in the article does it say there was intent to hurt, injure or kill anyone nor does it say that any of the cyclists bikes were damaged !
Of course if any of that HAD happened then it would be a different and much more serious story.
It's a bit like saying that I COULD drive out of my house and mow down a group of innocent NUNS in their habits, who were half way across the pedestrian crossing.
I doubt I would but I could !
Thats hilarious, i so hope i get the chance to do the same sometime soon, lycra clad twats
Evidently Martin has been a bit of a twat here. However equally as a road user and a pedestrian I would say the majority of cyclists I encounter in my travels do NOT adhere to the most basic rules of the road. I have seen them riding the wrong way down one way streets, riding on the wrong side of the road, jumping red lights, having no lights on their bike at 4 in the morning and a variety of other idiotic things - along with my absolute personal favourite which is cycling on the pavement and using pedestrian crossings. THIS is why motorists get pissed off with cyclists, and why although as stated above Martin was a twat, I can see where he's coming from.
This was a bunch of people who had deliberately chosen to use roads, without traffic lights, one way systems and for the most part traffic. Regardless of their fashion attire, they seem about as harmless a bunch as you could possibly imagine.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but the joy of this "prank" is that the electric car has superb acceleration and is virtually silent. Said chubby cook will likely get a less than friendly reception on the road for years to come.
My personal recommendation to anyone offended by said antic is to sneak up behind him in public, yell twat very loudly in his ear and run off. A totally childish yet appropriate response to the Mail on Sunday motoring correspondent.
Hence why I say he's been a bit of a twat. However my point is the actions of a number of cyclists (and quite a large number in my experience) result in them all being considered self-righteous imbeciles who are a danger to themselves and others.

Is it funny if I tell you that the other day I snuck up behind this chav kid in Churchill Square then pushed him down the escalator? Chav kids are twats after all. Pretty much no one likes them, so it must be justified right? It wouldn't hurt them THAT much?
Tell you what if it is so funny how about you let someone throw you in to a bush at twenty miles an hour (this is how fast a group of cyclists is likely to be moving). It may not be so funny then. It would hurt a lot, if they hit the tarmac it is likely to lead to broken collar bones, at the very least a large amount of road rash.
Now you are starting to make yourself look a little bit silly, why are you talking about causing damage ? As said further down, I would have thought it would be difficult not to cause damge That doesn't even come into it, do you not think if one of the bikes had been damaged it would have been mentioned ? In this kind of situation I doubt any rider would have been able to get the car details
I really am surprised by your attitude SB as i've always thought you to have been one of the more intelligent and reasonable posters on here, Thank you, that's very kind, I do try but you really do seem to have the bit between the teeth on this one Yeah I have, it's an important one for me, I ride 1000's of miles a year and now you're going of on a tangent with no real reason to do so.
Yeah they do.
