If you're including me in that, I've two boys in Junior school so, what they are tuaght very much 'affects me'.

it affects us all, but apparently it does not affect him. it does not matter a tinkers f*** to him if they are taught that black people are perrenial victims, white people should rule the world or if all jews should be shoved in gas chambers then burnt to a crisp apparently, as I am a loadmouth bigot who is raising a few questions about what could be described as a bigoted education.

hats off to everyone who does not see the problem, fair play to you and I wish I didnt. Perhaps a few months of exposure to this specific environment and you would feel a little more like I do. I never thought I would think like this either. I would not dismiss all this out of hand as bigoted railing against change too easily.

They have the choice of those individuals so they can learn about those individuals. Is is very simple. So simple in fact that the children seem to have a better grasp of it than Spanish.

You have misunderstood the curriculum, you have misunderstood me and more importantly you have misunderstood yourself. I suggest an early night and come down tomorrow morning feeling a little bit better.

Surely the problem is not that they are all black, note that the longer list provided by LB the people were not all black (there were hispanics and whites on the list as well), but that the long list did not provide any option to study white males. Now admittedly white males have a checquered record in history but surely there must be some around that are suitable to study as role models - unless the course was called 'Role models in history who arent white males'. Now of course the list shouldnt be 100% white male either but by excluding them then surely that is just as 'racist' and 'blinkered' and all the other labels and most importantly is not providing our children with a balanced education.

I'd like to know exactly the wording of the hmework that was set. All this rubbish about 'white ROLE MODELS' etc.... There was no mention of role models in the original post.
