Mark McGhee's thoughts from the official site:

Mark McGhee was pleased with the afternoon's work - and particularly impressed with the Robinson and Revell partnership. He said, "They looked good, they looked bright and they looked enthusiastic.
"They showed willing and Alex Revell showed one of the things we liked about him and why we signed him: how hard he is prepared to work."
McGhee also gave his appraisal on the trialists "I thought Martin [Brittain] did well; he showed his style and he's got something we could benefit from. Stephane [Biakolo] did okay again he showed his style... we'll look closer at him.
Leo [Mendy] showed his pace, but he's not neccessarily the type of centre half we looking for so we'll have to have a think about that one. Jaques [Williams] looks a good player; a good footballer so we'll take a closer look at him.
"Zoumana [Bagayoko] at left-back was terrific and I was well pleased with what I saw of him... He's a good passer of the ball and he's quick and aggressive on the edge of his own box - I was pleased with him."

Sounds to me like Mcghee was impressed with the trialists.

KNEE JERK REACTIONS

Brittain: He was good down the right, and he hit one beautiful 40 yard pass - SIGN HIM UP

Bagayoko: He looks a classy left-back with pace, tenacity and gets forward - SIGN HIM UP

Williams: Encouraging debut, busy, could be a good deputy for Oatway while injured - WORTH ANOTHER LOOK

Biakolo: OK, won the pen BUT no dialogue or link play with CKR - JURY OUT

Mendy: Part of the defence that creaked in the first-half. NOTHING SPECIAL, WILL BE LUCKY TO GET A CONTRACT AT THIS RATE

Revell: Scored but also missed chances, great in the air, looks full of confidence. Already looks better than McPhee or McCammon ever did - ENCOURAGING

Other thoughts: Carpenter sweating like a pig and looking tad overweight, Jake Robinson impressively busy and hungry - his first goal rewad for persistence, the sort of opportunity CKR would have given up on.

This line-up looks good to me:

1. Henderson
2. El-Abd
3. Bagayoko
4. Hinshelwood
5. Lynch
6. Hammond
7. Brittain
8. Carpenter
9. Robinson
10.Revell
11.Frutos.

This would be a young/inexperienced side, would need more experienced players for this level. Dont rule Tank out yet.

No-one here has mentioned Scott Chamberlain's performance. Thought he looked a useful prospect on the basis of his first half performance - more so than Williams did i the second half.

...and that was the point I kept making last season, the defence looked OK in the most part but they were let down quite frequently by the midfield, that was the area that I thought most needed strengthening.

Think McGhee is starting to prove his critics wrong.

I think he will catch many people by surprise, which would be nice and pleasant to think following a pish poor season, last season.

Even though it was only Worthing I was pleased with the performance of the new players especially Brittain and Mendy. Thought Revel took his goal well.

Does me, certainly if CKR can't be arsed.

I'd have thought that's the defensive line-up we should be looking at; El Abd RB, Lynch & Hinsh CBs, new signing at LB.

I thought Loft was RUBBISH, and Revell not much better. Cox is too lightweight.

Nice to see Mayo reporting back for pre-season actually half fit, and Robinson looked well up for it.

The right winger in the second half looked okay, though his crossing wasn't up to much.

CKR looked LAZY.

Good to see FDM back, and everyone else looked okay.
