Fed up of hearing Potter roll out the party line that he's happy with the 'group' he has that he can 'work with' ...............we're way off the pace.

Your trouble is you don’t really support the club and couldn’t give a toss either way, we all know a couple of injuries to certain players will cripple us the bench was pathetic today, GP couldn’t change the attack if he wanted to

So you're saying my trouble is that I see this from a sober perspective?

Not that I agree with what you just said about me not "giving a toss" as it should be quite clear that I actually care quite a lot at this point.

Maybe Everton are a better side than they are given credit. Just a thought.

Happy with our transfer dealings and some of the old group of high earners moved on. Also due to the current covid also feel it's wise for Tony to keep his money in his back pocket at the moment (ignoring the other thread on pickpockets) as there could be much better value in purchasing when other clubs might start struggling financially...... cynical but we know Tone is canny like that. January for instance could be bargain time (in the EFL and abroad). We'll see. We've lost the games I expected to lose so far and picked up a good 3 points at the Toon. No panic from me.

Not sure what your point is....if we concede two a game we will probably get relegated.

Today provided a Clear blueprint for future Opponents.
They know our keeper doesn’t come off his line and we’ve got a few weak headers of the ball in defence.
They can also see our midfield can be bullied and with close attention, Lamptey can be kept quiet.

We’ll get battered with crosses and free kicks from now on in.
We have the personnel, they need specialist coaching though.

Totally agree with this. An opposition manager of a distinctly average team (e.g. Burnley) will tell them to just win corners and free kicks and whip them into the six-yard box - will guarantee goals against us with the current line-up - meaning we will be needing to score 2 or 3 to win any game. We had the same issue last season whenever we were without Burn and Duffy. Either Burn needs to play (although think he is pretty weak in the air given his height) or we need a new keeper who will dominate the 6 yard box.

No, he’s not saying that you see it from a “sober perspective“, he’s saying that you see it from a completely different perspective to the rest of us because you aren’t one of us. You don’t have the emotional connection to the club that the rest of us do. It’s easy for you to type thoughtless comments because when all is said and done you’ll log out of NSC one day and never come back, you’ll stop watching our games and will stop checking our scores, the rest of us have an emotional bond with the club which is non negotiable, it’s worth remembering that the next time you feel the need to patronise people who get pissed off about conceding 4 sloppy goals in a game.

That's easy for you to say. I'm not gonna try.

There is no fukken way that our big nobs are gonna go on the opposite of a fire sale if you know what I mean.

Shite thread, the OP is better than it.

My first thoughts. My second thought was :fishing:

Some tiddlers bit.

Anyway, I had a nice day out today and now I'm going to infuse myself with bleach. Should be right as rain for MOTD. How did we do? No - don't tell me! I love suspense.

We had no striker on the bench today and a young lad up front who should be on the bench or out on loan starting. If we don’t solve that (and not with a young lad from the Swiss monkey league) we’ll go down.
We also need to sack whoever is coaching set pieces, at both ends of the pitch

There is no money unfortunately. The best we can hope for is a loan signing and even that’s unlikely as we’d have to cover all the wages of any decent player.

What didn’t work today was the zonal marking in a game littered by individual errors which gifted Everton 3 goals. Nothing to do with playing 3 at the back.

Does zonal marking ever work? It's shit.

Man for man and take responsibility for that person ffs

I agree with this. Except I don't think we'll go down. At least I hope not.

We need another striker, and I do think a season scoring for fun in the Championship would do COnnolly more good than harm.

However, given The current situation, it's unlikely to happen.

I heard a massive bang/shooting noise on the radio earlier, whilst Pottinker was being interviewed on the radio, It was either Webster, or the set piece coach.

We need a striker, for sure.
We don’t need another defender Though. We need a defensive coach.

Losing Duffy & Murray is the reason.
Bruno could coach defending but it’s got to be the right player who can head a ball.

How do you explain the £20m we were prepared to pay for Nunez then? I don't know what will happen but I do think is money to spend on one decent signing if the club feel the deal is right.
