There is no money unfortunately. The best we can hope for is a loan signing and even that’s unlikely as we’d have to cover all the wages of any decent player.
That's not true is it. There was pushing 20-25 million for Nunez. Thats wasn't coming out of thin air.
I guess it's more that we must stick ridgedly to the moneyball model to get players, than zero money available.
I am all for sensible management, but I do think moneyball is a straight jacket at times.
If we can't find the right food, in the right flavour, with the right expiry date at a bargain price. We just won't eat anything at all.
Whereas this approach is fair enough and great if it can be used to secure promising gems, if you weren't able to get one in using the method (Nunez) the need should still be addressed.
