Hoskins goal was well taken today and hopefully will be the platform for plenty more as his positioning just seems much better and natural and he actually manages to hold the ball up ..... Unlike CMS who would have trouble holding up a balloon with his close control as all his supporters have said he can run around for 70-mins but acheive nothing in the process ... if CMS was younger his close ball control could have been worked on

I was saying I thought Hoskins' runs always look better than CMS' because I feel the runs Hoskins makes are easier for the player with the ball to see. Craig makes runs, yeah, but runs normally very difficult to thread a ball to, whereas Hoskins always seemed in the right place. He made a chance or two against Watford when we were truly shite. I think he's a good fit with the style.

I agree.

really pleased for the lad and it was a cracking finish in circumstanves where we have missed plenty this season. Has to be close to earning a start ahead of CMS.

Hoskins running with the ball at his feet looks like a quality player, given that he has had no game time and CMS has been a disappointment, for whatever reason, for a while now I'd really like to see Hoskins given a run in the side.

I definitely wouldn't drop Barnes to accommodate him either as he is worth his place on current form, don't think that CMS is.

Wasnt Hoskins bought to be part of the partnership with CMS and thus Murray was allowed to leave without too much effort being made to stop him, so can see them playing together but not Hoskins instead of CMS.

I agree,we havn't seen enough of them together. They looked very good together in the pre season games I remember.

That is the crux of it. Hoskins creates more opportunities than CMS, with his positioning/runs. Simple as that.

felt really sorry for craig.......all alone upfront ,miss-timing headers and running around like a looney.........he looked gutted when he got taken off........really wanted him to score today but we just don't seem to play to him.:moo: glad for will.....surprised dobbie didn't figure but hey ho ...funny old game and all that.......bring on the next victim.:D

CMS said when he came off that his leg muscle had tightened up,so it was more a precautionary measure rather than a tactical move.

The posh bit
:lolol: Based on WHAT?

He hasn't done ANYTHING for Brighton yet. His goal at Cardiff should have been the platform but he spent the whole of last season either injured or out on loan. This season he has been mainly injured and when he has played he has missed more chances than CMS has, but with immunity for being blamed for them. Hoskins and CMS are clearly being judged by very different standards.

Based on :
composure on the ball
Intelligent runs into goal facing positions not runs into useless wide positions
First touch that controls the ball not bounces off needing recovery
Being able to finish a one on one
Being on same wave length as our other players
He is a better fit to our style of play
The fact that cms has lost the very little he had

Sure I can think of more like most others on here that have actually played the game and not sat at home moaning on their keyboard.

Really good movement and calm finish (not to mention the great through ball from Lopez). Is that really only Hoskins second goal for us?

Could see on the TV that he was getting pretty pissed off with the service he was getting too - at one point the words "f*** me" escaped his lips after a particularly dodgy through ball which he didn't have a cat in hells chance of getting to

His runs aren't the best, hard to pick him out. Hoskins, on the other hand, is threaded through 2 or 3 times in the twenty minutes he gets at the end of each game.

Petty digs aside, that is a massive reach.
