My dad took my brother & I to two games over Easter in early 70s - can't even remember the matches but we were in the old third division or was it fourth. He was a Millwall fan & never took us to any more although started going with my mates.

And me. Even though Dad was a yorkshireman and a big Barnsley fan. My 9th birthday fell on a Saturday, and this was my dads birthday treat for me.

My grandad. Took me to my first game @ the goldstone and ive been hooked ever since. I was a good luck charm for a while aswell, I was unbeaten for 53 games before we got beat by Plymouth last season.

Born in Brighton means supporting your local team and not following a supposed big club by reading the match report in the newspaper. My first game was at the Goldstone 70/71 v Aston Villa on a complimentary ticket as a thank you for raising money for the Pat Saward buy a player appeal.

I was a Tottenham supporter at school, along with most of my mates, but I persuaded Dad to take me to an Albion match in the Christmas holidays in 1984, against Wimbledon. We sat in the Lego Stand and the Albion won 2-1, with Frank Worthington getting the winner. I then went the next season during a half-term, and gradually got addicted. The moment I realised I was an Albion fan and nothing else came when we beat Hull 3-2 in the FA Cup and I nearly hit the ceiling when we got the winner. It was a right come-down when we lost to Southampton, with Steve Moran's goal being a particular kick in the throat for me, but I was hooked anyway and have not looked back ever since.
