Just interested to see if there are any wierd and wonderful reasons for any of you following The Albion.

:)
What made YOU start following the Albion?

Me, always been part of the family but wasn't in to football. One day Brother said "Fancy going to watch Brighton play tomorrow." I said "Yeah..OK"
I am now well and truly skint and my health is definitely deteriorating.

Came to Brighton from Birmingham as a student and Birmingham City supporter - my team of choice from home (despite Villa Park being easier to get to).

Stayed with the Blues through thin and thin, until five and a half years after first moving to Brighton, when I found myself moving into a bedsit that was an easy walk to the Goldstone Ground.

Having not seen a Birmingham City game for a season and a half (because I had been living in Italy), it was a surprisingly easy thing to find myself going regularly to the Goldstone - particularly since the Albion managed to deliver us promotion to Division Two at the end of the season.

Spoilt only by the fact that Aston Villa beat us to the Championship.

I was one of the 34,766 at the Rochdale game.

I was looking for a convenient place to go shopping in Toys are Us, Burger King and Comet and fell into a timewarp

As a child we had a very old next door neighbour whose father was a director at the club when it was formed, he told me that I should support my local team and stop wearing the Chelsea scarf that my nan had given me as a present. I took his advice and have never looked back, it has saved me from years of ridicule and avoided the risk of being labelled a plastic cockney.

Moral of the story, always listen to and respect the opinion of your elders.

My dad and uncle (neither particularly keen footie supporters) took me to the Goldstone on Boxing day (back in the sixties) to walk off the festive over indulgence. They took me a little stool to stand on in the East terrace (chicken run) and we played Gillingham - can't remember the score .... I was about 7
