Spain to win it, but I doubt they offer much value.

There are two problems with the Ivory Coast bet.
a) they have a horrendous group and
b) they haven't got the strength in depth to actually win it.

Chile might well be a decent E/W punt at those odds, but they never seem to show up at World Cups.

Mexico is a crap bet, IMO. They are the England of the Americas - large population, very wealthy domestic league (by American standards) but never good enough.

Tenner says Ghana - only a matter of time until an African team win it, might as well be this one

Brazil, Spain, England, Argentina, Holland.

One of those five, but I see a surprise nation having a run deep into the tournament. Ivory Coast, Uruguay or Serbia perhaps.

Although they always do well, I'd be very surprised this year if Germany, France or Italy made it to the semi finals.

England although Spain are clearly the team to beat.

Best outsider is the US. Potential semi-finalists and it's lucky we're getting them early.

The US? They've got good keepers and that's it. Toothless up front and their "star" player is Landon Donovan who has had 12 good games for Everton and completely flopped at Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen. Oh and their main striker is Jose Altidor, who did sod all at Hull.

Can't see beyond the big 6, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Italy, England, Spain. France look like a spent force & although an African team may reach QF stage thats about it.

SF: Brazil,Spain, England, Argentina.

Final Brazil Vs Spain

agreed I'm afraid to say. Would love England to be there but Spain/Brazil are very self a shored and stronger.

But fingers crossed for the three lions.

US beat Spain 2-0 in last year's Confederation Cup semi-final and went 2-0 up against Brazil in the final only to lose 3-2. Any team who can do that is pretty useful. Their season has only just begun so they'll be fresh and they are very well organised. They're playing Czech Republic tonight so it'll be a good gauge.

Spain and Brazil were on holiday in that tournament. USA will do well to get beyond the second round. If you think USA can win this then surely England have a better chance. We are clearly better than them.

That's why I said England in my first post!

US will make the knock-out stages and I reckon they will cause at least one, if not two, upsets on the way.

Lost 4-2 at home last night, to the Czech republic, who didn't even qualify.

Is this the same USA that lost 4-2 to the Czech's last night?

Edit: beaten to it.

Can't see beyond Spain personally. Suprised so many go for Argentina when they have a cokehead in charge.

Sven will bring the Bacon home.

I had to laugh when I was reminded that dickhead completely f***ed up Mexico's chances and as soon as they sacked him they improved. If ever a team doesn't need the Sven "sit on a one goal lead" old stlye Italian philosophy it's Mexico.
