He's obviously trying to raise his profile as a manager, but verbally he's a bit of a loose cannon who is likely to talk first and think later. With respect he has 100 per cent brought this one on himself. He didn't need to say all that stuff, just 'I don't think Luis is a racist'. And most of the people on today's witch-hunt are not Brighton fans, and they couldn't give a shit if he left even if we could.

There will be a point where the club decide they don't want this sort of thing any more. That might lead to a word in his ear, and he may not react well to that (I suspect he wouldn't, to be honest).

He's merely brought up the subject and gave his opinion. Vouching for a bloke he knows pretty well, gus should know him better than most, know the Uruguayan people and their culture. I hate this sought of vindictiveness culture that seems to be enshrined in England now, where if someone says something a bit taboo, then off with their head, hang 'em high and inflict mass pain on an individual (in these cases the pain is hounding people out of their jobs and destroying their good name). What about all the good parts of their character and all the good they have done, that just seems to have been bypassed. It's just character assassination and it's ugly. The witch hunt for gus isn't from Brighton fans, but the one for Blatter is from everyone, i mean the guy brought the world cup to africa for the first time, how's that for racism?
