What about all the good parts of their character and all the good they have done, that just seems to have been bypassed. It's just character assassination and it's ugly. The witch hunt for gus isn't from Brighton fans, but the one for Blatter is from everyone, i mean the guy brought the world cup to africa for the first time, how's that for racism?
Say it as it is inthis country at the moment, and you get hammered by the PC brigade. Most people will think Gus is right in what his said but won'tsay so in public, is it us as a nation who are out of step with the rest?

So reading through the posts on here on the events of the last 24 hours you believe that the majority think Gus is right? Are you out of your mind?
He patently needs to be vetted by the club for his media appearances. He's obviously trying to raise his profile as a manager, but verbally he's a bit of a loose cannon who is likely to talk first and think later. Fair enough, talking about individual matches that his club is involved in, but anything beyond that and the media are now going to be setting traps for him. They love hounding people til they get a scalp, and a manager's scalp is arguably more of a result than a player's scalp.
Its not a right or wrong thing though. He made and opinion, which can't either be right or wrong.
I haven't heard the Talksport comments from Gus but if it's worse than what he has already said then I am very disappointed. He is an inteligent man and whatever his personal opinions on the Suarez issue might be he should have realised that he was setting himself up for a big fall by expressing them. There is no doubt that most of the rest of the countries around the world lag behind the UK in their sensitivity to racism - that is not a good thing and not a reason to justify the defence of casual racism. As I said, I thought Gus was an intelegent man and I am surprised and disappointed that he didn't realise that his unacceptable comments would open up a hornets nest. I hope TB does have a word with him and I also hope that his serious lack of judgement doesn't extend to footballing decisions.
Hmmm, not sure why others would be 'too scared' (rad) to explain that language use in South America that would sound racist in the UK is harmless. Most non-South Americans wouldn't make the point because they wouldn't be aware of it.
But even if he was just making that point (which is valid, may be true, and may even turn out to be the reason given if Suarez is not convicted), it's a hiding to nothing and a wise man would have steered clear. AND he completely undermined his credibility by the 'crybaby' comment: it's one thing to say that Evra mis-interpreted because he's not from S America; it's quite another to insult him.
So let's not pretend Gus hasn't seriously blotted his copybook here. He has damaged the Albion's reputation.
However, I agree that the best thing to happen is just to keep his gob shut for a bit on any non-Albion matters, and I hope that TB has indeed had a word in his ear.
The main thing is that he makes sure he has not created a problem with the squad, especially our non-white players.
Im guessing alot of people have not heard the talksport interview as everyone is commenting on the suarez comments but the worst was said in the talksport interview
Bloom needs to tell gus to wind his neck in and warn him that if he is going to say things that could harm the reputation of the club he will be fined, just like any player would. His comments were stupid, badly mistimed and have nothing to do with our club. He's our football manager, not the head of care in the community for idiotic uraguayan players. Great preparation for a big game tomorrow and how do the likes of Liam bridcutt and lua lua feel about all this? Stupid, irrelevant bullshit that needs to stop.
