Pork pie land.
Well, Poyet has made the BBC News Channel tonight, together with the slap-down from Sir Alex, so that's going to be all over the world now. The papers are going to absolutely SLAUGHTER him tomorrow.

Someone should just slap Furgie - the jock cun t!

It's all a load of hot air, theres been name calling since the year dot... I'm with Gus ,Evra needs to grow a pair.If he'd gone running to the FA because Suarez insulted him in any other way everyone would be laughing at him. In the heat of a game players (including Evra) will use anything they can to gain an advantage, surely we've all heard of the mild mannered player who becomes an animal on the pitch? IF Suarez made racist comments it doesn't necessarily make him anything other than a thoughtless idiot. Not because he should have considered the genteel mr Evra's feelings but because he should have realized there is a line and the shit he would cause by crossing it.

The fact that I consider Evra to be a complete cvnt has not clouded my opinion in anyway

Gerrard will scratch his nose at some point this weekend and Sky will concentrate on that instead.

He patently needs to be vetted by the club for his media appearances. He's obviously trying to raise his profile as a manager, but verbally he's a bit of a loose cannon who is likely to talk first and think later. Fair enough, talking about individual matches that his club is involved in, but anything beyond that and the media are now going to be setting traps for him. They love hounding people til they get a scalp, and a manager's scalp is arguably more of a result than a player's scalp.
Poyet vetted....never gonna happen

I'm pretty sure he said what most people were too scared to say, England's culture is very different to the rest of Europe and some words are interpreted differently in England as they are in other countries.

Its very true.

Most people seem to think the whole world agree's and/or acts in the same way as the UK. They don't.

And it only made that because of what Fergie said, not Gus. The only reference they made about him was that he suggested Evra was a cry-baby.

I think it would have had more impact if he had called him a French cry baby

In the circumstances, probably just as well he didn't call Evra a cheese-eating surrender monkey for good measure. Then all hell really would have broken loose.

With respect he has 100 per cent brought this one on himself. He didn't need to say all that stuff, just 'I don't think Luis is a racist'. And most of the people on today's witch-hunt are not Brighton fans, and they couldn't give a shit if he left even if we could.

There will be a point where the club decide they don't want this sort of thing any more. That might lead to a word in his ear, and he may not react well to that (I suspect he wouldn't, to be honest).

He's merely brought up the subject and gave his opinion. Vouching for a bloke he knows pretty well, gus should know him better than most, know the Uruguayan people and their culture. I hate this sought of vindictiveness culture that seems to be enshrined in England now, where if someone says something a bit taboo, then off with their head, hang 'em high and inflict mass pain on an individual (in these cases the pain is hounding people out of their jobs and destroying their good name). What about all the good parts of their character and all the good they have done, that just seems to have been bypassed. It's just character assassination and it's ugly. The witch hunt for gus isn't from Brighton fans, but the one for Blatter is from everyone, i mean the guy brought the world cup to africa for the first time, how's that for racism?
