May 1977 v Sheff wed. A very nervous 3-2 to BHA infront of 30k +. After following Brighton, and supporting West Ham for 40 years, this is still by far the greatest game ive ever seen live.,

I'll never forget that night because it was my first promotion as an Albion fan.

33,500 v Derby in 1976 League Cup rd 4.

Yes! Took my ex-wife and nephew, he was only little, but from somewhere a beer crate appeared for him to stand on. No health and safety tossers in those days! Goldstone packed solid. Can someone correct me if wrong but I believe the previous round was quite packed when we beat Ipswich with all the international players they had at the time?

Boxing Day 1958 which is shown as our record but I still maintain there was more present at the DivIII South winning game vs Watford but the record books says not.
Sorry BG, the Fulham game was not the true figure, there were far more than the 36,000 + thousand quoted as fans climbed over fences, kids sitting around the sign boards. Watford was big crowd but not as many as the Fulham game....I was at both games but we also had some more games over 30,000 as well....either way it would be nice to see those crowds again.

Rochdale was the most crowded with thousands locked out. More so than the Chelsea Cup game. Derby was quite full.

Biggest buzz was for Aldershot Cup game but there was only 29,000+. Big buzz at the Sheffield Wednesday game. We won both of those games.

BHA v Derby, 33500 in the old gallstone, AMAZING night. They nearly scored from the kick off but we survived, got the ball to Wardy and he scored! For the youngsters, in today's money, it was like going ahead against Man City 😄

Up your alley
I was amongst 30,756 in May 77 at the Sheff W game to see Albion gain promotion, despite going behind after 33 seconds. Peter Ward equalised in the 2nd half, minutes after missing a penalty. Due to his miss, a later penalty was taken by Nobby Horton, who scored to make it 2-1. Mansfield were also promoted that day and at the end of the season were crowned champions due to our loss at Swindon in the next match.
