It's nonsense isn't it. You've still got to exit the stadium at some point whether you're in the Upper Tier or Lower Tier! They just don';t want to do it and as always the authorities are being weak and not enforcing it.
And the disinfected dispersal route for away fans is no distance at all at Newcastle meaning you’re in amongst the home fans in no time at all, having a good chat about how the game went.

….often back in the same pub you were in pre-match, discussing the upcoming game with the home fans

That’ll be 8pm Sunday eve ….so our fans can get back by Tuesday
Back in 1990, I went up for a match on the Friday night. Despite the snow warnings. It was cancelled at 08.00 the following morning. I caught the the 09.30 out (which arrived at 10.30). Apparently that was the last train out for two or three days. So it can happen !

Still, worst places to be stranded. Five years later I was stuck in the Aussie outback for six days.

So, all games are televised live over the two days of the weekend.

Presumably, that means no Saturday 3pm kick-offs due to clashing with the Football League programme.

That could give seven possible slots, meaning only one pair of games being played at the same time.

Saturday lunchtime (12:30ish)
Saturday early evening (5:30ish)
Saturday late evening (8:00ish)
Sunday early lunchtime (12:30ish)
Sunday mid-afternoon (3:00ish)
Sunday early evening (5:30ish)
Sunday late evening (8:00ish)

And do we know when the games will be announced?

Thinking of driving up to this one and stopping over the night. In which case, Saturday 5.30 would be ok. Get up there lunchtime-ish, check in (or park up at least), then out on the SAUCE and the SCOFF for the afternoon. Mince along to the game, then straight back into town after to get curried up before another SESH, then finding a way back to the hotel and being sick in a rubber plant.

Yesh.

Last time I went up there, I thought similar. Booked a hotel with the intention of enjoying the local sights and being able to have a couple of drinks after the game.

We got smashed 4-0, and suddenly the prospect of a sophisticated glass of wine in the city centre with a bunch of bouncing, smug Geordies didn't seem so appealing.

Went straight back to the hotel, checked out, and drove all the way back to Sussex without stopping

Are they going to announce it in harmony? To music maybe?
To Blaydon Races:

Ah me lads, none of us our coming
On the east coast mainline, no f***ing trains are running
We could of got a plane up there, but have you seen the prices ?
It's ITV and it's roasted tats.... to avoid a financial crisis.
