Hopefully a blessing in disguise the error today and Tunnicliffe will get his place back where he deserves to be.

Over the whole season i have to agree but surely you cant argue that up until that mistake Virgo has thoroughly deserved his place based on form?

I thought he was decent today apart from the single glaring error. These things happen.

Incidentally, do you know how well Tunnicliffe has been doing during the week? I am sure the management are in a better position to judge...

He made a big mistake, but he's been on good form.

Everytime a player makes a mistake, it doesn't mean they should get dropped.

Virgo/Elphick for me still...

There was no reason for Tunni to be dropped at all, feel he has been treated very harshly.

Personally, I thought Elphick had an absolute shocker................compounded yet again by another very poor challenge in the first few minutes earning him, yet another yellow card.

I am far from being a Virgo fan but even I think he is playing well and it was one bad mistake today. However, that wasn't the reason we didn't win. It's the fact we didn't score any goals and thats the fault of the players at the other end.

WSU, just below the seagull.
I thought our problem today was up front and there defenders dominated our front two.

Hardly surprising when we kept hoofing long balls up the middle, it was too easy for the two centre halves. When we started knocking the ball around, especially second half with Cox & Bennett seeing more of the ball and getting crosses in, we looked a bit more threatening.

I think Virgs has done well since getting his place back, and today was just a mistake we all make them and it happened to him today. But he was good all over the pitch, pretty solid and made some crunching tackles. Does Tunnicliffe deserves his place back because of one error? Well the answer is NO....

Tunnicliffe - no pace over 10 yards, no positional sense, not a good marker

Elphick - must be coming up for suspension soon

Virgo - best centre half in the club
