Virgo and Elphick have been ever present in the last two seasons when we have been fighting relegation.

I'm not sure this is true. They certainly havent spent as much time together as a centre-back pairing as you're making out. In fact, over the last two seasons are 'best' defensive form has coincided with these two playing at the back together

Shame Adams and White fell out with a fairly talented left footed centre back we had, who did also have some pace, which no of our back 4 have.

Wouldnt argue with that. Perhaps we should look at getting him back on loan if he would come as he doesnt get into Forest team now, it was rumoured that Hudderfield were interested in him.

On the subject of our (lack of) strike force yesterday, I know you can't hide behind a poor ref, but if he had shown a bit of bottle and actually stopped the Millwall defenders fouling and cheating every single f***ing time the ball went to Murray or Forster, they might have had a bit more good fortune in front of goal. Shocking, shocking display by the ref yesterday.

I see where you are coming from, but at the same point that happens NUMEROUS times during a game.

Dicker gave an even more dangerous ball away in the second half, in which they should have scored. To me, whether they score or not is irrelevant.
If a player gives away 5 pens, and the opposition fail to score all 5 pens, is that ok?

IMO, Millwalls goal was due to a Virgo error.
Villa's goal was due to collective errors, STARTING from McNulty.

That is why I think McNulty hasn't had the same level of criticism on here...

EDIT: I'd like to add that by your reckoning, nearly EVERY single goal scored is due to an INDIVIDUAL error. Pretty much every goal will come from sloppily giving the ball away to start with, or missing an important tackle.

But isn't that the point. If a keeper or a centre-back makes a mistake it'll more than likely lead to a goal. Dicker will stupidly give the ball away on the half-way line two or three times a game and because it doesn't lead to a goal he won't be criticised. Midfielder's will play poor balls, strikers will miss chances or stupidly get offside and they escape criticism because it's not a costly.
