Not having TV pictures of a game is annoying, really annoying, but how can it justify beating up police officers?
Even if you despair police officers, how can you justify beating up an individual, when they haven't even provoked you?
How anyone can justify this is beyond me!

Manchester bit off more than they could chew. Simple as. If it had been even perpetual losers in that shitty competition Newcastle or Spurs (forever relegated to C5 at stupid kick-off times - not that anybody cares anyway) then it could have all passed off peaceably. But Manchester's a short drive from Glasgow, and no British city is fully geared up for an invasion from another British city. Like Big Beach Boutique 2, they got off pretty lightly considering.

About 30 seconds in.

that was one punch?

Couldn't blame the police for not helping, idiots were still throwing things at them afetr that lad was down

The best message UEFA can do after yesterday is to simply say

" Great cup run, your fans behaviour was a disgrace, you are banned next year from all competitions"

You silly f*** wits, and your places will go to an English side, not Welsh but English.

taking the piss in all ways and so predictable , i wonder how many English clubs with connections to Rangers turned up for a jolly with them as well?

The most curious thing..
During the 2006 World Cup, Liverpool intended to show games on the big screen in Clayton Square. This lasted for one match only because of a riot and looting during and after the screening of the first game. As a result no further live games have been shown since.

Yesterday Radio Manchester was reporting hordes of Rangers fans drinking throughout the city centre from 7.00am onwards. The City Council were supposed to be making a decision to open other screens at 7.00pm, which given the kick off time and the numbers involved seemed a bit late to organise anything and get Rangers fans to a new venue, especially as none of them would have known the city centre or where to go and how to get there. All the fan zones were reported to be full, and some Rangers fans were reported to be trying to break past police cordons to get into full fan zones before kick off.

Given the crowds, the sun, the alcohol etc I'm not surprised it all kicked off, and suspect there would have been some trouble even if one of the screen hadn't failed at kick-off.

OK so according to NSC ALL us Scots hate the English?

The amount of racist comments on this thread alone proves that it's all two way traffic.

Anyway some facts about Wednesday night:

Once you left the fanzone you were not allowed to return to the fanzone as it was too full - Guess where they put the toilets? yes you guessed it outside the fanzones.

The riot police turned up BEFORE the screen went down, they knew they had lost control and the screen failing just fuelled the idiots more.

Manchester city Council have made £25 Million pounds from wednesday alone, with some proper planning all this could have been avoided.

OK - for what it's worth, I agree with alot of what has been said on here. For years us scots have always laughed at your carry ons in europe, now the shoe is firmly on the other foot and I for one am embarrased by the behaviour of the Rangers fans.

I do think Rangers should AT least have european games behind closed doors, the blame for the troubles lie firmly with the club - i know they can't control the fans - but neither can your FA control the ingerland fans.

Of course most of this will be ignored and you can carry on your racist rants about us scots, which is great because it shows who are the small minded minority.

(i'll give you an example in case your struggling - you can be arrested for calling some one a <enter country> bastard)

Not so long ago I was working in Glasgow, didn't hear a single anti English comment the entire time I was there. In fact I would say that Glasgow is one of the nicest places I have worked in, far nicer than most English cities.

this is bollocks, Manchester city council (and ultimately the local tax payers) have to foot the bill from Wednesday and the subsequent clean up. They gained nothing from putting up the screens and making the Rangers fans welcome. The local bars, hotels and offies are the ones that have taken the cash.
