No why the surmise that they all loathe the English...

...try living in Scotland!

I have travelled to maybe 40 different countries around the World, the only one where I have been racially abused for being English...Scotland!

Did Rangers arrange anything at Ibrox?

Yes, they had a big screen showing for 25,000.

For any of the individuals in Manchester to use the breakdown of the screen as an excuse for the behaviour on that CCTV footage is pathetic (and in fairness, the chairman of the Rangers supporters association in a later clip doesn't even attempt to).

They're the sort of people who're only brave when they're in a crowd of like-minded individuals- get them on their own and they're suddenly not so keen to chuck stuff or kick the crap out of others.

Morons.

(PS would be interesting to hear Sepp Blatter's response if such scenes occur next week in Moscow with English fans).

I'd have expected about 100,000 - 120,000 fans to have turned up in total.

If you think about it logically, 30,000 plus Rangers fans with tickets are going to pile into town with their buddies in tow, those without tickets will hang around the city centre. It's a big ask but shouldn't have been beyond Manchester.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the likelihood of such scenes occurring in Moscow are fairly remote. Not least because I'm fairly certain that there's little likelihood of thousands of supporters without tickets getting anywhere near the city centre. Let alone the Moscow authorities deciding it'd be nice to put up some lovely big screens to show the match that this ticket-less horde have turned up not to get into!

However if the Russian police continue with the policy of allowing the locals to batter the shite out of English fans whilst watching from the side lines, as they did in October, there could in fact be a fair amount of trouble as there will be a lot more English fans out there this time.

BBC NEWS | UK | A long-awaited day for Rangers - First clip.

Yeah, I well blame the big screen failing for these pricks attacking the police and then 10 of them laying into one of them whilst he was on the floor. Stupid bloody tele breaking eh?

I know what you're saying mate its the 'fans' fault not really the people who put the screens on in theory. (I hadnt seen the footage before that and its blatent wrongness). The thing is if you get 100,000+ fans of a big club invading a town and a screen conks out theres gonna be a ruck, (started by a minority). Its obvious

I just think if you've got 3 or 4 big screens somewhere and a shed load of rangers fans in town on the lash all day someone in charge should have thought. hmm what if the screen doesnt work, its gonna kick off, lets hire a spare

Latest estimates I've seen put it at 200 000. Nobody was expecting that...

What is the average gate at Ibrox ? Less than 100,000 no doubt. So how many came down for the ride ? An excuse to have a piss up and make a nusiance of themselves ? I think so. Apart from the people selling booze just why should the city of Manchester be expected to do anything apart from keep the streets clean ?

Do you want a bunch of neanderthal fans spouting sectarian bollocks infecting English football...I don't.

I think Hadrian had the right idea

not really thats a bit like saying whats the average gate at Withdean and how many did we take to Cardiff. Its a big occassion and you're going to get a load of people without tickets for the atmosphere. The council and the local businesses I imagine (though I havent read anywhere) would probably have been quite happy with having the hotels, bars, takeaways full and a bit of a party until it backfires. It was all looking so nice until it kicked off
