Absolutely shocking footage, what a disgrace.
....what the hell did people expect?
Does that make it alright, or acceptable in any fashion?
As I understood it, Manchester City Council weren't keen to have Rangers fans around the city; but once it emerged that tens of thousands of Rangers fans were going to turn up anyway, they felt that they had to do something. And they did the best they could. How many cities in the world could organise facilities to cater for over 100,000 fans with only 1 or 2 weeks notice?
Or perhaps they could have put a screen up at Old trafford or something and keep people away from the city centre.
Just saw the pictures on the news of a mob attacking a cop who had fallen over, bloody disgraceful.
...at least this should put to bed any notion of the Old Firm clubs joining the Premiership, this could be a regular occurrence if drink fueled jocks go on rampage every weekend in a city centre near you, many of them loathe the English...why give them the opportunity to prove it?
of course it doesn't, did I say it did?
Why?
Obviously violence and intimidation are inexcusable, but for God's sake plan better than this.
"Once it became clear that tens of thousands of Rangers fans (without tickets) were going to turn up anyway..." - Of COURSE they were, how f***ing obvious was that?!
There were 70,000 England in Cologne vs Sweden in WC2006, of which about 1/3had tickets.
Do you want a bunch of neanderthal fans spouting sectarian bollocks infecting English football...I don't.
