I was just listening to him on 5 live but here you go -

Vincent Tan: Cardiff City owner insists he is not a 'villain'
That's a frightening interview.
"
Moody was replaced by Alisher Apsalyamov, a 23-year-old Kazakh who is a friend of Tan's son and was on work experience at Cardiff before leaving the UK after his visa application was rejected.
Tan praised Apsalyamov's "incredible football knowledge" and says his view that Cardiff overpaid on transfers "has been proved right".

Every business I don't know, if I spend enough time - a couple of months - I will know a lot. I know quite a lot about football now. I know the value of players and we won't do stupid things.
"

So he thinks a random 23 year old is a football expert, and that after a couple of months of study, he knows the value of players. Mad.

Yes, because that's the only thing that's important.
That would seem to be the case, when we were there, a year ago.

The majority of Cardiff fans would appear to be anti-tan only when they lose.

As much as I'd like us to be plying our trade against the best of them, it's not with a sense of slavering avarice. It would be with a sense that we have done it sensibly, considerately - and together, rather than 'follow me, cos I'm great...'.

Definitely.

But watching the Cardiff fans gobble up their free scarfs, wearing their red replica shirts, makes listening to them moan now, seem rather hollow.

If they were 10th in the table, Tan would be a footnote, because only a minority would be complaining.

This isn't a Archer type situation.

Yes and no.

There always was a group who protested about this, but they seemed to get lost in the stampede. But your point is right - a fair whack of them, maybe even the majority, were happy to jettison their history and culture for the sake of sitting on their heap of borrowed gold.

Indeed. They got seduced by the riches. So basically, Tan is the devil.

Tans continued grizzling about this £15m overspend on the playing budget is a load of old CACK. He's the owner, he's the one pumping the money in, so who the hell writes the cheques ? Its not like Tan could have checked his bank statement one day and gone "oi, hang on...."

Looks like he's only moaned about it when he decided he didn't rate the players McKay brought in.

He's an entertainingly cartoonish villain; he ticks just about meglomaniac box going. He thinks Dave Jones is a better manager than Malcy Mackay, which proves that my cats know more about the game than he does. Good value, while he lasts and if you're not a Cardiff fan.

Spot on. He even said (in that laughable BBC piece) that he made the mistake of giving his then-manager free reign in transfer fees, so Tan only has himself to blame (but just conveniently passes the buck to Mackay).

He should count himself lucky Redknapp wasn't manager, he'd be bankrupt and Redknapp's dog would be sunning itself in the Seychelles.

Yes it is. I'd much rather be in our position than Cardiff's. It's thinking like this from our fanbase given our history of shoddy ownership that I just can't understand.

Cardiff would not be in the Premier League or the Championship had Tan not bailed them out.

They would be over £60 million in debt and going the same way as Pompey.

I don't agree with the shirt change as it's an identity thing and the way he treated Mackay was poor, but at the end of the day, beggars can't be choosers.

That is exactly why I think regardless of FFP being taken seriously by other clubs, it is the correct thing for Brighton. If you keep building up debt after debt season after season at some point it is going to be to much, even for Tony :)bowdown:). We can end up with massive debt and then the club is valuable to take overs from nut jobs like Tan.

Cardiff fans were stuck between rock and hard place with this guy and it was because of the amount of debt they had.

Which is kind of the point I'm banging on about with the finances of this club all the time. We can't allow ourselves to be put in the position Cardiff were put in when they had no choice other than to sell to this loon.

He has Cardiff's best interests at heart no more than Bill Archer had ours. They both bought desperate clubs on the cheap and did what they liked with them. The only difference is that's Tan's pockets are a little deeper.

It seems we completely agree

I wonder if Tan had been a life long supporter with links to the club but still had done the same as he has so far whether the would get so much stick from the fans?

Bloom vs Tan
prevented them from going bust - Yes / Yes
Pumped millions in to improve the squad - Yes / Yes
Changed the clubs badge - Yes / Yes
Sacked a popular (successful) manager - Yes / Yes
Achieved promotion to the top flight - No / Yes

Is it because Tan is foriegn that he is seen as bad for the club? - I wonder
