After what happened with Saville et al it’s hardly surprising broadcasters will err on the side of caution around any sort of allegations made

This in spades.

And it seems to be a particular type of person who can ask "why didn't the BBC cancel Saville?" and "why are ITV cancelling Clarke?" at the same time and keep a straight face.

Am I correct in saying the last episode will be on ITV Hub until Sunday ? We were going to watch episode 1 last night but didn’t have time. It will have to be a Viewpoint binge to take in all 5 episodes by Sunday.
As to the Guardian article; I haven’t read it and have no interest. Actors are just court jesters and I have no interest in theist lives (ditto footballers). If he has broken the law he will be punished but in the meantime I am going to watch a decent tv drama.

Likewise.
Haven’t got the time so we won’t bother to start.

I wonder what he is apologising for?

Seems very odd.

I worked under a narcissistic business owner, a bully, who reduced staff and partners to tears with him campaigns against one or two at a time.

When it was patently obvious that an apology was the very least he could do, he just couldn’t face it, that would’ve meant admitting fault!

The most I ever heard him utter was “I’m sorry that you got upset” [sic ... from my perfectly reasonable behaviour].

Was it Priti Patel?

Currently starring in ITV's prime time drama Viewpoint all this week has now had sexual misconduct allegations levelled against him dating back as far as 2004.

Unfortunately one or two women accusing him could possibly be written off as bitter and twisted exes or female predators looking to make a few quid, but 20 separate women making complaints is a whole different ball game, looks like he might need Petrocelli to get him off of this:ffsparr:

Petrocelli!

Bloody hell where the hell did you pull that from?
I haven't heard anyone mention that show for 40 years.

Sounds like political correctness to me.

Can’t see that it’s equivalent to suspending someone from work. Series has already been made and Clarke paid (presumably)!

And why is ok to show it on ITV hub but not on mainstream TV!? If it’s the wrong thing to show the final episode then it shouldn’t be on at all.

Does anyone think that the episode being shown will make any difference to anyone’s opinion about anything? If seeing NC offends someone don’t watch the programme!

Discuss?

Indeed it does, his Lawyers I guess have told him to admit nothing.

Having just read the Guardian article, it’s clear that certain things were reported at the time, things he can’t get out of. I understand now why he’d now apologise for them. However, they’ve been careful to deny the more incendiary stuff which indicates that his acting/directing/producing career could be over if proven, I’d be surprised if this didn’t end up in court.

No you are wrong.

The problem ITV (and any station would have) is the nature of the complaints and where and when they took place. It potentially places any programme the actor is in (unless this cleared up) into quite a different context.

And that's a clearly a commercial issue for them.

Agreed about Bulletproof its very cringe however, I can recommend watching the Kidulthood trilogy he was in and wrote. Very powerful and in today's world very true to life in certain areas of the country

I watched the first one and for the foremost part it wasn't bad. Aside from when it felt the need every 5 mins to have some banter between them in a dreadfully forced ' love my Buddy, hate my Buddy ' style. It was like the they'd watched episodes of the Professionals and Starsky & Hutch but just did not know how to get that relationship right.
