I don't understand. I thought it was a political FACT that the Libs Dems were going to be annihilated into dust for being mainly to blame for the ills of this coalition government.

And what are Labour doing in 4th place? I thought it was political FACT they were going to win the next election?

As I understand the Liberals are highly regarded locally, they have 41 of the 42 seats on the council.

Labour haven't figured there since the late 60's.

Has anyone ever met a UKIP supporter with a vague understanding of international finance and economics? Most of them should be in secure accommodation.

It is interesting to note the combined UKIP+Conservative vote was greater conservative vote at the last election, and only 1k lower than their combined vote then. be interesting to know how the UKIP vote previously went, either the "tory" vote still turned out in force or there's an awful lot of Liberal (?) and Labour voters going there.

You could say the same about voters of other parties too. Nobody really understands all the fancy terminology they use in finance or economics. All done to rip us off.

Eastleigh has been a strong hold for the lib dems, that was never going to happen here.

There were two winners last night. The libdems who somehow managed to hang on to the seat and UKIP who have made a step change in their election success. Labour obviously remain am irrelevancy in that constituency. The big losers are the conservatives who face the real problem of UKIP eroding their vote from the right and damaging thier chances at the next general election. In fact it's easy to see the right wing vote being split and labour returning to power via the back door.

Fair points. I think that we're headed for another hung parliament though.

 His post says more about his own intellect than that of any political party supporter ! For the record I'm not a UKIP supporter, I'm a floating voter, but I do support a full in/out referendum on our EU membership - couldn't care less which party delivers it though ( except the Greens ! ).
