For those that vote on looks...........The UKIP sort is best, the Conservative sort has put on a few lbs/ stone since her Photoshoped advertising shots were taken. The Labour guy is a comedian, the Liberal is......well Liberal, all the rest are mostly a sandwich short of a picnic.
Here in the Winchester constituency I am about half a mile from the Eastleigh voters, so can watch with interest.

The Tory candidate is f***ing useless, never showed up to the hustings, and cannot answer questions for the journalists. I am no fan of UKIP, too conservative for me. But would add some interesting additional arguments different from the 3, now boring old parties.

No hope for UKIP, especially if the weather is cold, the crusties won't come out and those are the only fools who will vote for him.

All the pundits are saying there is a surge of support for UKIP , votes are draining away from the 3 major parties and it will be touch and go between the LibDems and UKIP

With or without the Scottish MPs?

Without Scottish MPs - I would still put them on at least a 30 to 40 seat Majority.

There are currently 11 Liberal and 1 Tory MPs from Scotland, so in the event of the Scots voting to go alone the Con-Dems would also lose a total of 12 seats.

I don't think it could, you know.

Well I'm in "Royal" Tunbridge Wells, and as I'm sure you know there are many worse places in the South. 15 years ago you could walk up the town, say hello to a few people and pass the time of day. Now it's like a trip through the middle east or the outbacks of Europe. It may not be the same everywhere, but if it's bad here then I'm sure it's a lot worse in other places, a lot worse.

You're very naive if you think UKIP supporters are only "crusties".

Well, at least if UKIP had a seat, the BBC would have some kind of post-hoc justification for the amount of airtime they get in national political coverage (much more than the Green Party who have an MP and control - I think - two councils).

One council and one they've managed to "run" with considerable incompetence !

Although only living 5 miles from Eastleigh town centre, I'm also in the Winchester constituency so am just a very interested spectator.

Forgetting national issues I for one hope that the Lib Dems get in. I believe they've actually done a very good job in Eastleigh and my partner worked with their candidate Mike Thornton for years so knows him well and he is a very decent, caring guy who we think would make a very good MP.

Believe it or not, Eastleigh was actually voted the 9th most desirable place in the UK to live in a survey on some property program 4/5 years ago. Bizarre but apparently the job opportunites locally and access to public transport and the airport made it desirable. Winchester was voted number 1 so I assume there was some Hampshire bias in the voting as I certainly dont agree that Winchester is all that either.

I read something similar the other day, most of the towns seemed to be in Yorkshire or oop north. To be near my Son I have to stay down here, but I don't think there is a lot wrong with Winchester. I have also lived in Hiney's leafy suburb.
Is it the Saino's in the Abbey Mill site you are against?
