If he stays, then I'm sorry - I will do my own protest. I will seek every opportunity to screw this
country out of money, avoid every single cost possible and, when confronted, I'll point them in the direction
of that c**t. Social disorder, unrest, violent rioting and rule breaking are what I will be into. And it will
be his fault - totally 100%.

He'll be gone if the May elections are disasterous. Everyone needs to get out whatever the weather and vote against any Tory councillors that face the ballot.

It's the only way to get the utter disgrace out of Down It Street.

It’s strange.

I hate the Tory Party and their core principles, even under what they call a good leader .
I detest their “ I’m alright , Jack” “There’s no such thing as Society “ dogma.

But,

For purely personal reasons, because I abhor them so much, I hope Johnson survives.

I hope the 54 letters go in , but, I hope he wins the no confidence vote by about 150 votes.
I then hope he doesn’t resign, I don’t think he would, and to see him staggering on for at least another year, with no authority, subjected to ridicule and the open contempt of even his own party would be extremely edifying.
And yes, I do know how bad it would be for the country, but let’s face it, he won an 80 seat majority, a lot of the people who voted for him, deserve it.

Even if he does last until the next election, surely even he can't possibly do as much long term harm to the British people, economy and society as he has managed in the last 2 years, can he ???

I kind of see your point, you are hoping that we have to hit rock bottom so so badly that the Tories are unelectable for a decade or more. The problem with that is the real suffering that will be suffered by so many compared to many Tory voters.

The press will merely continue propping them up, their rich donors, including their Russian benefactors, will pile cash in to their election fund and " Think Tanks " and any Labour government will be submitted to their rabid fury.

If ANY Labour MP, Councillor or advisor makes the slightest mistake they will be hounded out. Remember Jeremy Corbyn's wrong coat " Scandal " at the Cenotaph and multiply that X 10.
I think the one victory we can achieve is to get Johnson and his cronies out of office in the disgrace they deserve. That can only be achieved thanks to the disgust and shame felt by a majority of the Tory party.

After that, normal service will be resumed, " Lessons will be learned " " Back to traditional Tory values" " The people need stability and leadership at this time... " etc etc. and it all goes back to normal.

Boris Johnson’s desperate efforts to save his premiership were undermined on Saturday as one of his most loyal backbench supporters said it was now “inevitable” that Tory MPs would remove him from office over the “partygate” scandal.

In an interview with the Observer, Sir Charles Walker, a former vice-chairman of the 1922 Committee of backbench Conservative MPs, implored the prime minister to go of his own accord in the national interest, and likened events in the Tory party to a Greek tragedy.

I read in The Sunday Times today the Tory government wasted £200m in a non-refundable cancelled order to French biotech company Valneva for a Covid vaccine.

They're just trying their best though/it's not their fault/Jeremy Corbyn/free trade deals with Honduras etc, etc.....

Question - when the vote of no confidence happens this week, do we get to find out, by rights, which MPs voted for
him to stay and which to go?

Probably best not to comment on an ongoing police investigation though eh?.

Why do you keep saying this? There is no problem with commenting on a police investigation. Or are you confusing it with when somebody has been arrested and the matter becomes sub judice? Or are you just confused, generally?

Big hitting Conservative IDS backs Boris.

Or more likely, let him hold the fort during the worst of the crisis, whilst the party find a credible alternative.

Of course not. When it happens it'll be a secret ballot - which means even those who back him in public can knife him in the ballot.

I await being called a Tory again, but given what was going on at the time and the hedging of bets on Vaccines - I dont see this as an issue.

The top part of course.

I think you have a point. It may just be simple incompetence unlike the awarding of contracts to companies that have only just been set up by friends, family and acquaintances of the cabinet ???
