Russian politics is so complicated it's quite easy to put individuals into good and bad guy boxes.

The younger Lebedev wrote an open letter to Putin asking to stop the invasion.

However it's very clear why the Johnson's of this world stay so close and it's simply about the money.

Nothing to do with their potential political influence over the Russian regime. Putin doesn't need their money, he's got billions stashed away.

The far bigger deal is how Johnson went straight from a NATO summit to a Lebedev party and emerged dishevelled holding a war strategy manual (actually reported in the DM, for about 5 minutes they had a decent editor) Then there was the unprecedented move by Johnson to give Lebedev a peerage against MI6 advice on security grounds. The Queen was asked intervene and refused.

We can't estimate what a liability Johnson has been to national security. But it doesn't matter to him, its all about personal elevation and rewarding cronies and donors.

Of course. On my other previous point though, their wasn't much discussion on here when the story broke, a story that was covered extensively on television and in the newspapers.

Just because Channel Four decided to bring it up again, doesn't make it a cover up. THIS Government as it has done on a number of issues just decided to ignore the concerns,

Brush it all under the carpet, until someone lifts the corner up again. These things never actually go away.

Ukraine froze Alexandr Lebev's assets in the Crimea.

Rwanda plan illegal

The Seig Mail will be retrieving its "Enemies of the People" headline for a 15-page diatribe tomorrow about the 'liberal elite' who "hate their country".

Is Rees-Mogg bovvered about being in contempt? Church and cricket are far more important. £80K a year!

Another despicable Tory toff who privately hates the working-class people who still think that he's on their side against the Establishment.

Also a fake patriot; he moved his Somerset Capital Management investment company to Dublin to avoid the fall-out from the Brexit that he enthusiastically supported.

One of the nastiest Tories - although the competition is fierce!

Tory’s are already saying the ruling merely highlights the need for us to leave the ECHR.

Something which will also be deemed unlawful.

Just accept the decision, you slippery toads.

I’d love to see that man jailed. And not in Ford Open Garden Centre. A proper clink.

Tories once revered the 'sovereignty' of Parliament and the 'independence' of the Judiciary - but this ultra-Right-wing rabble only respect these institutions if they directly serve the Government's agenda; otherwise they are to be denounced. suspended or ignored.

Quite. I imagine he popped he popped in to sign the register and collect his £350 before taking the rest of the day off to recover.

It must be very frustrating for the majority of MPs that actually take their job seriously and work for the constituents.

Braverman's response will be predictable, they'll appeal and a Supreme Court ruling won't happen will early 2024 at the earliest.

Leaving the ECHR would of course put the UK on the same level as Putin's Russia. They've banned protest, why not go full fash?
