I agree that under normal circumstances 30-35 is about perfect.

I think it's more down to humidity than temperature. I was in the Western Australian desert once (near some place called Sandfire, appropriately) and the thermometer said 52°C in the shade, but since the humidity was near enough 0.0% it felt OK. But I've also been in 100% humidity in the rainforest when the temperature was only about 27°C, and felt like I was going to die.

Yes - good point - in New York in summer the humidity is FOUL!! Even 25 degrees but whopping humidity makes for a dreadful sweaty mess of a walk to and from work...

Rainforest is overrated Truffle. The Cloudforest is where it is at!

I lost about a stone in weight in the Rainforest in just two weeks. All that walking and sweating.

It is too hot here in Chichester. The building is over 300 years old and not properly vented, plus I have a leather chair

It's a tough call. Cloudforest is great if you want Resplendent Quetzals or Mountain Trogons. But you can't beat the rainforest for the range of Toucans or Hornbills (depending on which continent you're in)...

We had 30 degrees in our bed room last night, 5 Degrees would have been nice especially in their hey day and without the missus, but 30!

I took the kids swimming at Saltdean Lido at half three yesterday, the thermometer on the car hit 36 degrees - it was still 29 degrees when we left at 6 o'clock. Would rather have this than the normal miserable shit weather we have at this time of year plus need to get used to the heat for when we go on hols in August.

ive got REALLY f***ing bad prickly heat on my sunburn, i have been reguarly applying calmolile lotion and its still driving me f***ing mad - suggestions please!!!

Fill up a spray bottle with cold water, add a few drops of lavendar essential oil, refridgerate for a bit, and spray on sunburn....helps a treat!!

or find a lotion/gel at boots that has aloe vera in it...sprays are better as you don't rub/pull the skin like you do with lotions...you can put it in the fridge too to make the gel cooler - nice!!

Miliaria rubra, otherwise known as prickly heat, is caused by blocked sweat ducts preventing the skin from regulating it's own temperature effectively. Your sunburn has blocked the ducts...

You need to get a spray to cool the skin, something containing eucalyptus, chamomile and/or lavender it'll help soothe and cool hot, itchy, irritated skin - if you haven't any of those just spray cold water..

Piriton will help (although I hate antihistamines) but it will take a little while....so the aloe vera or water spray will help til then..
